Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 Just got back from my one day Manchester to St Bees-Through the Lakes/Dales to Ingleton, left the group on the A65 to Long Preston A682 to Gisburn-Barrowford-M66 and home 318 miles, 31mpg, m/way cruisin' 80-85 rest of the time piddling arround, crossflow drivers can only dream Fantastic weather, fantastic route even with the deviations, crawling through Windermere TWICE wasnt much fun, but as i was tail end charlie i had to follow, mind you cocked up a bit on the way up, ended up on the Hardknott Pass Have you ever tried that in a Westy ? some of them blind crests on hairpins when you cant see over the bonnet can be a bit scary I'm just glad we remembered the suntan creme Hope you all have a great day tomorrow. Oh yeah 20 westy's and one Cater ham Quote

oioi Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 thank you Si and carla, i had a great time on sunday. roads weather company was brilliant. an apology to all those people who i waved on in hutton-le hole. I had seen a mate and decided to stop. i hadnt realised it was a planned stop (must pay more attention!! and so waved people on to what i thought was the stopping point. I hope this in no way spoiled anybodies enjoyment. Mike Quote

Yes it can Paul, 828 miles in 2 1/2 days in a Cateringvan, Just get those low slung exhausts sorted for next year, there's no chance of my starter being fixed to I'll continue to push start it, just make sure all the stops are at the tops of hills. Thanks for a great trip guys, the badge doesn't matter it's the fun that counts. Now you guys get yourselves over to www.se7ens.net and get signed up for next years tours.
