stephenh
THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE SHOWN INTEREST, BUT DUE TO A CHANGE OF PLAN THE BEAST IS NO LONGER FOR SALE. THE GEARBOX IS LIKELY TO BE FOR SALE IN THE NEART FUTURE, BUT WILL THEN BE ADVERTISED SEPERATELY. The Beast is for sale. If anyone wants to see it it will be competing at Anglesey in the final 2 rounds of the Speed Series next weekend. For those who don't know the car, it started life as a factory built duratec engined Aerosport, built for me about 4 1/2 years ago, delivered new on 4th. March 2008. The engine was a brand new 2.0 lt. Duratec, out of the crate, so less than 9,000 miles now. Since then the car has been extensively upgraded to its present form, as a class F sprint and hillclimb car. In summary it is a 272 bhp road legal sprint car, with Elite 5 speed sequential gearbox supplied new from Elite with ratios chosen for this engine and car. It is a ready-made class F competition car for anyone wanting such a thing, or would make the ultimate trackday machine. It is taxed, tested and insured, but is insanely quick for road use. I'm thinking around £16,000 or near offer, which is less than half what it has cost. Right, here's the add, and I make no apology for its length, there's just so much to say about the car: Chassis: Standard Sport 2000 Steering by Westfield rack, competition mountings, short steering arms. Suspension is standard rear wishbones, wide track front. Dampers are Protec alloy spec'd and supplied by Procomp Motorsport. Factory rear anti-rollbar, Playskool front anti-rollbar. Suspension setup by Procomp Motorsport. Westfield alloy uprights, Westfield competition brakes, with 4 pot front callipers and front vented discs. 4 of 7” x 13” Prorace 1.2 black wheels, fitted with Khumo V70A supersoft 215/50 x 13” tyres, in various stages of wear, and 2 of 8” x 13” Compomotive CXR wheels, black, fitted with Khumo V70A supersoft 235/45 x 13” tyres. I also have a set of 4 black Prorace 1.2 7” x 15” fitted with Toyo R1R tyres which have been my road and trackday wheels, which I may throw in if not required for my next project. Body: Standard factory Sport 2000 Post Office red bodywork, with factory aeroscreen, carbon effect rear light clusters and carbon effect lightweight dash. Dash 2 electronic display (factory fitted) with separate large Elite gear indicator. Dash mounted FIA cutout switch. JK Composite seats; double skinned, and a special order low back seat for the passenger. SPA small lightweight wing mirrors. Small headlights. Carbon Mods csr style carbon fibre front wings and small canards. Mickmade carbon fibre front splitter. Playskool Motorsport lightweight full safety cage. Engine: This is essentially the original engine as fitted by Westfield new, when I bought the car from the factory, built to my order. I took delivery on 4th. March 2008. Note, this wasn't a reconditioned engine, Factory built Duratecs have new engines from Ford power products. However the engine has been much modified, and its present spec is as follows:2ltr. Duratec on standard crank, but carefully balanced. Lightweight flywheel, I believe by Raceline. Shallow fully baffled sump, again I believe by Raceline. Carillo steel conrods, Supertec forged pistons. Cylinder head gas flowed by Simon Armstrong of Ultimate Performance, and camshafts also by Ultimate Performance. If you don't know who Simon is, try visiting www.ultimatep.com after which I think you'll agree there isn't anyone better qualified for the job. The engine still runs on the KMS tapered throttle bodies, as used at the time by Westfield, and the KMS ecu. The entire exhaust system was built for me by Matt Simpson, Simpson Race Exhausts, to dimensions supplied by Simon Armstrong. Engine was rebuilt to the above spec by Northampton Motorsport, and re-mapped by Troy Robinson. The work was completed on 17th. March 2011, and the result was 271.8 bhp at about 8,600 rpm at the flywheel and 177.2 lbs/ft torque at about 6,300 rpm. Power is above 250 bhp from 7,500 right through to the ignition cutout at 8,900 rpm. Graphs and charts are available to serious potential buyers only. Is it tractable? Yes, engine torque rises above 120 lb/ft at just over 3,000 rpm. Is it reliable? Yes, I've never had any trouble, I haven't even taken the plugs out. Just changed the oil filter and oil very regularly, and only used Millers CFS 5W-40 (competition fully synthetic). Transmission: Uprated competition clutch fitted by NMS in March 2011. Gearbox is an Elite IL200 with ratios chosen for this car and engine, geared to achieve top speed of 137 mph on the sprint wheels and tyres, and a theoretical 144 mph on the road/trackday wheels and tyres. This 'box has not missed a beat since I bought it new in early 2011, and it was fitted at the same time as the latest engine upgrades. I change the oil (Millers competition transmission oil) every time I change the engine oil. The prop shaft was made for me, also early last year, by Bailey Morris. The diff is a Ford unit with viscous LSD, as fitted (reconditioned) by Westfield when building the car. However the diff was rebuilt, and the viscous unit uprated, by Bara Motorsport in January of this year. That's about all I can think of, and having done so I'm wondering if I've under priced the car in view of how much I've spent!

stephenh
After v 8 power!!!!!! may be orange!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pete's is a lovely car, but I'm in the market for what might be called a "high end" Westfield road car, I miss the driving round like Mr Toad! So my ideal is now much closer to a "standard road" spec.
