After speaking with Steve today, he suggested that if the guys that are thinking about travelling from the north could meet us at ballachulish if us wish to save us a few miles if your coming down the A82 that is.

I think see it is going to be a nice day :o we could go for fish&chips for lunch or would folk prefer somewhere else?

Kev - Fish & chips would do me nicely, or pub grub if anyone prefers. Do you have anywhere in mind?

There are plently of places in Oban I'm sure and a few on the way down around Appin - the first one I found is the Castle Stalker View cafe (big carpark), next is the Cregan Inn, then Oyster Inn at Connel, Wide Mouthed Frog at Dunstaffnage (used to be our old house a long, long time ago - might be a bit expensive). Tons of Chippy's in Oban itself. Maybe someone has a recommendation and best place to park? I've not been there for a while.

Cheers, Matt

ps - all of the above have websites.

The oyster in is nice. Stopped there on a pistonhead run earlier this yeat. Food was good and plenty of parking. Kev amd ian were also there.

I'm flexible :t-up: Although I wouldn't want you to change stuff yet just in case I don't make it, unless others have commited of course.

Is there anywhere in Ballachulish for a coffee and bacon roll?

On the lunch front....again flexible but would prefer a sit down than munching chips on the street, especially if its cold and raining :o

Matta- You used to live in a wide mouthed frog? Is that a Jonah thing? :p Was it a mobile home? You know, just hop from here to there

Strange name I know, dunno why it's called that. It was a house we rented when my dad started working in Oban. At that time (early 60's) it was just a house on it's own with a ramshackle barn attached to it.

Not sure what's in Ballachulish but there's bound to be a cafe to meet at. Anyone know?

Doug - There's a cafe about half a mile back towards Glencoe on the A82 after you come over the bridge. It'll be on your right just off the road, called 'Crafts & Things' , PH49 4HN. Looks like plenty of space to park and we can see you from the road on the way past.

Isn't the internet a wonderful thing! :)

According to Google maps..........155 miles from home to the green welly. And approx £30.69 in fuel ???:suspect:

Will it be sunny? :p

Anybody else take female passengers on this sort of jaunt?

I usually bring my better half ,but not this time she's walking the West highland way

Zip Lob usually brings Lorna too!

Nah I prefer the peace and quiet (or noise of exhaust/jenveys) rather than the squeals then the 'can you slow down'
