Mooch
I know you've all been dying to know what the result was....... Boiled it down to either an A6 Avant or a Skoda Superb Estate Well...on Friday, I went for my appointment at Swindon Audi for a VIP day - they closed the showroom to all but invited punters, sent out flashy name tags and special parking tickets, so I turned up for my pre-arranged 15:00 appointment ready to be persuaded and sat there waiting for my one-on-one with some chap called Mike. No one turned up to talk to me even 20mins after the scheduled time, so my blood boiled, I handed my badge back to the receptionist and went home after throwing her my best Paddington hard stare. If that's how Audi treat a ready to buy customer they got it very wrong. Must have been serendipity, I think. I trawled the internet as soon as I got in and found a Skoda Superb 2.0 TFSi DSG Elegance with the L&K pack. Ex demonstrator under 6 months old and less than 5K on the clock for exactly the price I was looking for. Drove down to London to test it out, was blown away with how it drove and how amazingly, incredibly, mind-bogglingly specced it was and did a deal to trade in the Mazda there and then. I pick it up on Weds. Thanks for all of the advice, chaps, helped enormously!

iain m
You have actually bought an A6 for a lot less money and you will get better after sales service than Audi, if you wonder why Skoda workshops are always working on Audi,s the reason is their repair rates and parts costs are lower, an A6 cam belt change in a Skoda dealer is up to £500 less, same trained technicians, same parts, same engine, same car, simple. Skoda residule values are pretty good too which must really annoy Audi dealers.
Norman Verona
Only difference between the Skoda and the A6 is the engine orientation.

Mooch
Any one of those looks good, Jon. Depends which one is the first dry day! I suggest we should invite Mr Loader out for some track day tuition, too!
SootySport
Well done Mr. Mooch, you are now officially a "Happy Driver" good unplanned upgrade to the Skoda, as you can see I downgrade to an Ordi. Edit. Pay a visit to Briskoda, some good lively banter on there just like our Boardroom and some help/info on your Superb.

Mooch
I would expect no less than the attendance of the quickest and nailiest car this side of the Rio Grande! And Jumbo, too if he's around.
