M444TTB Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 After c6 weeks of looking and mostly missing out on cars because I simply couldn't get to them quickly enough due to work and/or location of the car I've finally got one! The car is a Q-reg SEiW with a 1.8 Zetec on twin 40 DCOE's. Apparently good for 126bhp@wheels but I'll see about that! Built in 2000 with everything supplied by Westfield (inc. engine. But wasn't 'new' enough) by the guy I've bought it from. There's loads I want to tidy and modify next winter but for this year I'll simply be servicing it and using it! Quote
7sRWild Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Looking good, now go out and have a blast. Easy at first though..she will bite you if you are not carefull. How do I know that?? Quote
M444TTB Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 I'm told the rear end has some bite! I'll be driving like a grandad on the way home. Just try and get a feel for it. Think I'll get it out on an airfield track day before I go for Castle Combe or a proper blat. Hitting some comes I can live with! Quote
Dave the Sparky Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Well done, looks tidy, enjoy... Dave Quote
housebeautician Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Pleased for you, take your time and enjoy it. Upgraditus is a illness you know, you will catch it soon BTW like the wheels. Tony Quote

mikeredcar Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Nice, looks really good. If you are looking for a track day and you are in the Swindon area try Motorsport events.com They have two coming up Hullavington 20th April or Keevil on the 23rd. Might be worth a look. I have used them quite a few times, well organized and plenty of time on track. Good luck and enjoy Mike Quote
Norman Verona Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Congratulations. Looks nice and er,.... yellow. The first drive home will be one you'll never forget. I haven't! Picked my car up in Bromsgrove, Birmingham and drove back to Sheffield - in heavy rain. In fact it was the only time I had the hood up. Quote

They're easy to spin, I lost the back end on a roundabout on the test drive. It packs more of a punch than the old Robin Hood! Still drive it like a grandad after the experience of exiting that roundabout backwards. You'll love it, make the most of this wether before you start pulling it apart. Quote
frag68 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Nice car, and I reiterate the advice above. Just drive it and leave the mods until the poor weather. I have only had my car 15 months and whilst its been one of the most unreliable car I have ever owned, the smile on your face everywhere you go regardless of how its driven is something you cant buy. My journey home from Darlington to Scotland was super. Cold frosty day and parked next to a Lambo in a service station when I had a pee stop and the Westy was getting more attention than the Lambo Enjoy the car and happy blatting. Fraser Quote
SootySport Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Mines Yellow as well, they are the Faster ones don't yer know . Bought it last July, a good few miles on road and track gave me an idea what needed doing. Now currently in bits whilst I change a few things. Save those wheels for your trackdays, always handy having 2 sets. Quote
