Matta Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 If the weather is good and I get all my necessary jobs done on the car, like sort sticking pistons in a caliper, new clutch cable, finally fitting the wishbones I got from Matt last year, new ball joints etc then I will be there. The weather forecast for Sunday looks good though according to BBC Fraser So we won't be seeing you then Fraser..... Quote
GreigM Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 So we won't be seeing you then Fraser..... Indeed, does seem like an "ambitious" list Quote
frag68 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 The car can still run without the wishbones being replaced. The old ones are still on it, so they are not priority. Brakes and clutch cable are however. Got the cable and its not a hard job to do. Piston in a siezed caliper is a bit more tricky. The caliper is off the car and I plan on getting it freed tonight come hell or high water. I have all day tomorrow and Saturday to get the rest of the jobs done. Fraser Quote
kev91 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Like wise, the weather is looking good, so may take a blat across to this Quote
frag68 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Car operational again. Piston now free in the caliper and its fitted back on the car and a modified clutch cable is fitted and the heat shield fitted. Still to road test it, but looking good for Sunday. Fraser Quote
GreigM Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 Great to hear, I'll be the stupidly fat bstd in the yellow westie - see you there....I'll be there from 9am...think they break for lunch about 12.30ish. If you're wanting a passenger ride and have a helmet, bring it - the ones knockhill give out are S*** (one time I ended up with a passenger without a visor - he didn't enjoy that!)...I'll try remember my spare (add it to the HUGE list of crap I haul to track days!) Quote
GreigM Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 Just realised the clocks change this weekend, so its gonna be a VERY early start to get to knockhill for 8.30ish....help ma boab! Quote
frag68 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Aw naw, no good. Going to give the car a shakedown this afternoon to ensure its all OK. Regardless, will be up either way on Sunday as its to be a nice day anyway. Fraser Quote
Ciprian Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Dont forget your cameras, we wanna see some footage! Have fun boyz, hopefully i.ll join you next time. Quote
walkerhill Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Am sure you will fill a session - if you need a few more numbers you could try inviting the Scottish Elise guys to fill up the remaining spaces, there is a mix of Westies, Caterhams, Elises and Exiges. Quote
theprisioner Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 http://www.flickr.com/photos/theprisioner/sets/72157629300156536/ The weather was fabulous, the on track entertainment was fabulous. Where was our region organiser? Quote
GreigM Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 It was a great day - quite a lot of stoppages, but some entertaining stuff on and off track, from a drag race where a Skyline got a 1/8 mile head start and still got beaten to the quarter to a porsche, to a golf which crashed into the barriers on the wrong side!! Burnt, tired, happy. I'll talk to knockhill this week, aiming to get the track day at either the end of July or August if I can.... Quote
kev91 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Was a great day out, plenty of action going on, was good entertainment, little bit burnt myself Quote
