I'm interested Greig, but it is dependant on date and noise limit. Would you keep me posted please.

Cheers Wayne

Theres officially a noise limit of 105db, but ive never seen it enforced.....ever! one of my previous cars was of the 130db range and no issues (asside from some ringning in my ears)

Fundamentally nothing so long as your car is in good condition, because westies are so light its no more strenuous on your car than a spirited country drive (unless you really push it). Things I would check:

Brake pads have plenty life and fluid isn't overdue a change.

Tyres are in good condition.

All fluids are topped up and in good condition.

Nothing is loose/rattling.

Worthwhile doing a quick spanner check on accessible nuts/bolts for tightness.

No-one is going to force you to go faster than you are happy with, so drive within the your limits and you'll have great fun....and once you've done it once its like crack :d

I would strongly advise adding to the above list:

Add an oil catch tank (for the crankcase/camcover breathers) of at least 1 litre (preferably 2 litres) to prevent oil being dumped onto the track and causing problems for other drivers.

105db should be ok, mine on the last trackday was 103db. Cheers

If the weather is dry I would be there any way ! So Yes im in. Happy to give pax and arrive early to help anyone else out with pre session help

If we do this... one other bit of advice - Knockhill staff sometimes do pre session checks. Nothing more than a quick once over to see that all works (Brake lights, seat bolted to the floor etc) but are also keen to ensure that batteries do not come loose if the worst happens. My advice is to add an extra plastic tie around the battery and this will keep them happy.

I'm fairly sure that we can muster up interest from 4 or 5 of the Borders Seveners. The trick is to confirm the dates as soon as possible and this gives me enough time to advertise the event and work on the waverers.

Just to get a list together of those possibly interested:

So 15 + 4 or 5 from Borders Seveners.

If we do go ahead it will definitely be after Applecross, will keep the list going for a couple of weeks before getting back to Knockhill looking for dates - think there's a good chance we can meet the 20 needed, and if not we could "borrow" a couple of tame drivers of other cars to make up the numbers - I know a few who may be interested.

Surprised Rab (bombero) isn't on the list - time to noise him up!!
