Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Weekend looking promising, I've got a site visit to a job near Conway in the morning; so hoping to take the Westfield, then it's a nice blat back through Betws-y-coed, taking in the Evo Triangle, then a quick loop through the Horse Shoe pass and a brew at the Ponderosa before a last home run towards Wrexham and then Cheshire, with maybe a little stop off to gawp at the toys in Demon Tweaks Quote

A perfect day Quote
SootySport Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Still kicking meself for sorning it end of October Shame, Keeping mine taxed all year just so I can drive when the weather is nice, also going on a trackday Saturday, I could not bear seeing the car sitting in the garage untaxed, unused. Quote
RayM Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Hoping to take mine for a Blat tomorrow..... weather permitting. fingers crossed Quote
flyingbanana Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Hoping to leave work soon for some more action- Bit easier to extend the commute going homewards, though doesn't sound as interesting as your route Gadgetman. Glad to hear there a few others still out and about. My Tax ends in Dec so no point SORNing now though not sure I'll retax immediately as Jan Feb are often a bit gritty... Quote
frag68 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Had a blat on Tuesday after putting a new engine and box in. Was on SORN for a couple of months and taxed on Tuesday and I intend using it during the winter. Had to do a few things today and was wanting to take the car, but in South lanarkshire it is peeing down from a large height, so no blat today. Hopefully will get the car out over the weekend weather dependant. Must admit on Tuesday, it was cold on the ears, yes I forgot a tammy, but my word, what a hoot. Fraser Quote
Bob Green Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I ain't got one to blat in. (Mental note to self - you stupid b*****d for selling it). Quote
mikef Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Execellent blat yesterday around Devil's Bridge area. Roads were still a bit damp so it was "interesting" at times. I'm still grinning. Quote
flyingbanana Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Damn! I'm home! And no errands to run as an excuse to use it... Found another job to do...main beam warning is a blue LED, and I can still see the thing now- not good for my night-vision... Time to slip into my narrow-body armchair and select 1st beer... Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Well just got back in after a day of it; Straight on the A55 to Conway, then on into Deganwy for a site meeting at twelve. Couple of "can I have a rides" after the meeting, so a few mini blats round the great Ormi/mini Orme bits. Then down to Betws-y-coed and a stop at the local Shell garage for some Vmax, which seemed b****y cheap. Damn this welsh land, fantastic roads and cheaper fuel. Gits Happened to meet Tankerman while in the petrol station Then on down for a loop of the Evo Triangle, followed by a circuit of the Horse Shoe Pass broken by a sarnie and a brew at the Pondrosa Cafe. All but the pass (in low cloud) in winter sun plus patchy blue skies and a bit of weak cloud. Bit chilly mind. From the Cafe, it was a quick run across to Wrexham so I could catch Demon Tweaks before they shut. My newly acquired full winter waterproof/wind proof cycling gloves kept my hands toasty for the last hour or so's run home. Dark by this time, so amused myself lighting up the hedgerows on the over run Fantastic. Quote
conwyrooster Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 This weekend looks like another promising run out,the last 3 weekends in North Wales have been great, even 15 deg last sunday!! cool ,low hazy sun, and the many damp areas just to test your reflexes,im sorry i did not go on the boardroom last night other wise i would have joind up with you Gagetman, I call at the same shell garage for a splash and dash every week end and do the same route from there as you took most week ends,[i only live 4 miles from the shell garage] any body over this patch on sunday !! Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Won't be this Sunday, but will try and get out that way again soon as, will try and post up with more warning next time To be honest, only knew about the meeting excuse, quite late in the week, so all a bit last minute Quote
