Some more clues - read them carefully;

It has some pace, has an engine of 4.5 litres and is quite special

Nope.

Bentley connection was closer. It's a 4.5 litre Bentley engine in a special chassis. It dates from the late 20's to mid 30's, two of the three constructors names are in it's name and I refer you back to my previous clue.......... ;)

Hello, back from holiday and ready to join in again.  I wanted to add that Walter Hassan wrote a brilliant autobiography, "Climax in Coventry".  If you can get hold of a copy it's a fascinating story through the greatest period of development of the motorcar ever.

Not a Ferrari Nic but technically and mechanically you are closer than you think Cap'n  ;)
