THEREALGARYC Posted November 14, 2001 Posted November 14, 2001 Who put that slanty mouthed yellow faced thing in? It bl**** well wasn't me! Quote
Blatman Posted November 14, 2001 Posted November 14, 2001 Did you put loads of question marks in????? Yeah.......me too.... Quote
GaryC Posted November 15, 2001 Posted November 15, 2001 Quote from mav, posted on Nov. 14 2001,19:21 GaryC, Shame to see you have not lost any of that 'Head up your own:A***: ' attitude, Westie or Cat. Its all down to personal choice. mav I never had it I just expressed my opinions and relayed some facts. Some took offence at them, some disagreed - thats life! You are completely right though - it is down to personal choice. My choice was a Westfield, but that doesn't mean I am suddenly anti-c******m. Had any of the 3 superlights I looked at been better built, I would would sit here as a c******m owner! Quote
Nick M Posted November 15, 2001 Posted November 15, 2001 To The Real Gary C, Yeeeesss, I had actually sussed who was who when I posted my initial response..... My comments still stand - now play nicely or we'll take our toys away Especially if the comparison between your toys and our toys ever takes place Quote
Nick M Posted November 15, 2001 Posted November 15, 2001 No, not so much of a challenge as an opportunity to banish a few myths about each others cars, as was proposed in the thread about CCC track day car of the year on Blatchat. I'm happy to do it if others are, and I know Blatman has put himself forward as well. Maybe if we get 6 Westies, 6 c******ms and maybe a smattering of other cars we could have an interesting day at Curborough next year. Cheap enough to rent the place for a day after all. Quote
VDU7X Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 As said on Blatchat, I'd be on for that. I'd love to try a Westfield and have no problems with other people driving my car on a bend it mend it basis. Alex Quote
juliansi Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 I can offer my c******m for comparison too. Julian Its a 2.0 zetec for info Quote
captain kaos Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 I clicked on this thread because it referred to Blatchat being quiet. I've just left Blatchat with 23 on line with only 2 over here..and I'm one of them! Alex, I've driven a zetec powered Westie, you will be surprised at the difference. Quote
Westfieldman Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 Captain please do tell I have nearly finished my Zetec Westfield what differences do you refer to and in what way I have driven a c******m at Donington on a drive experiance and been passenger in a few 7's Paul Quote
captain kaos Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 Westfieldman, You will notice that I was carefull not to say better or worse as the point I was reinforcing, which garyC has already made, is that such similar cars can feel so different. The Westie I drove felt a bit loose and ponderous, whereas the megabusa was almost alive. Alex and I have similar spec Vx units/cars which are quite well developed towards outr particular tastes. Alex's car is quite soft, mine is firm. Horses for courses...or in the case of Westies..donkey's could'nt resist..sorry Quote
ACW Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 What does Blatchat count as a user online ? whats the timeout period ? Quote
Nick M Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 Alex, Julian, Blatman, etc. Re the comparison, I was thinking along the lines of getting 3 or 4 standard (well, as close as possible) cars of each marque, say, an academy / graduate spec car, 1.6K c******m, a 1.8K and a VX and comparing them with things like a 1.8 Zetec, a CVH and a 2.0 (Zetec or Vauxhall). There would then be room for 3 or 4 more developed or unusual cars, e.g. VDU 7X, a 2.0 Zetec c******m, Blatman's toys, hopefully my baby engined Vauxhall, gee fin's carbon car if he still has it, etc. It would also be interesting to get a couple of bike engined cars of each marque there. I was thinking of a maximum of 18 cars and spending a day at Curborough. No timing so there's no pressure to drive quicker than people want to, just having the chance to drive each derivative and see what they're like. I'm happy to let others drive my car although whether I can fit in a c******m comfortably / safely enough to drive one remains to be seen. Quote
juliansi Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 Fine by me, obviously on a you bend you mend it basis. Same goes for myself in anybody elses car. Julian Quote
VDU7X Posted November 17, 2001 Posted November 17, 2001 Chaos, I wouldn't mind trying your car one day. I do wonder if the 6 speed box is beneficial and would also be interested on how the handling differs. As for Westfields, I've only ever been a passenger on the road in one and would love to drive a few to know the differences. The differences between the Ca7erhams I've driven are already so vast so I'm expecting big differences. Like all these cars, setup makes such a big difference so I think having more cars would be beneficial. Alex Quote
