Bananaman Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I recently sold some Harnesses on E-bay and they guy now wants a refund as they don't fit his car and wants a refund??? I said there wasn't a refund policy and this was his response!! QUOTE I am sorry too - to hear that there is no customer support from you.. I will be very happy to cause a great deal of fuss with ebay, or please let me return the item as it is not as described ("kit car" - it does not fit my kit car). Please note that I have been with ebay for a long time and I know exactly how to sort this kind of problem out with them and with Paypal, so I suggest you reconsider - then I'll give you good feedback too. Thanks in advance, Mike Question is, where do i stand? Quote
RedditchJay Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 what was the advert discription ?? what questions did he ask about the items ? Quote
Bananaman Posted August 7, 2010 Author Posted August 7, 2010 came off a Westfield but will fit most 7 type, and other kit cars so long as mounting points are not too far back from usual 7 mountings directly behind rear seats! Quote
lippydave Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Personally the buyer sounds like a right chancer..... I'd be tempted to tell him to "Go knock yerself the feck out with ebay..." It appears to me he's trying to blackmail you with the threat of negative feedback.....I believe there is an ebay mandate against exactly this type of extortion buried somewhere deep in an ebay advice page somewhere.... carpetstu Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Looks like he is just trying bully tactics. You clearly stated kit car. Report him to eBay and pay pal before he complains and let him try his approach. Also might be worth calling eBay on their help line, report him for threatening behaviour. Also the email you have received could be construed as a threat so tell him you have reported him to eBay, Paypal and local Police. That should take the wind from his sails Quote
Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I had someone try do the same with me, I ended up telling him as the advert said "No returns accepted" he hasn't got a leg to stand on. I told him I would report him to Ebay for wasting time. He ended up putting the case to "Resolved" and I never heard from him again I sounds like he is trying to pull a fast one buy say "he knows how ebay work, he's talking out of his Quote
ACW Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 report him to ebay attaching his email. Clearly a threading email with no basis. Once this is lodged reply to him telling him this in no uncertain terms. Classic do you know who I am and how important I am technique by him. This is the sort of thing people use when they have no other argument. Ebay probably wont do jack either way, at the end of the day part of their business model is people buying stuff and then deciding they need to flog it. Quote
JeffC Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 guy sounds a right t*t , after an email like that there is not a way in the world I would take them back personally I would tell him to f*** off and if they wont fit tell him to go on a diet the fat t**t Quote
Bananaman Posted August 7, 2010 Author Posted August 7, 2010 I don't appreciate your threats and have reported you to ebay & informed paypal of this. The ad clearly states the fitment & there is no returns policy. And reported him to ebay.....Watch this space! Not sure wether to bother contacting paypal? Quote
RedditchJay Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 contact paypal incase he claims the items are faulty or not fit for purpose... Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 You could always do an Arnie, and threaten to burn his house down Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Has he said what car he's trying to fit them to? because if it's not a 7 type car then he can go jump in the lake and drown. Save burning his house down Quote
Bananaman Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 The f**king dangler has now opened a paypal dispute, what a f**king dangler, if i lived a bit closer i think i might pay him a visit! QUOTE From Buyer - Mike Prymaka 07/08/2010 19:21 BST Item significantly not as described and is unusable - title included word "kitcar" as separate descriptive but item will not fit my "kitcar". Andrew Lyall refused Mike Prymaka's request for a £89.90 GBP refund. 08/08/2010 11:41 BST From Seller - Andrew Lyall 08/08/2010 11:41 BST THE AD CLEARLY STATED "came off a Westfield but will fit most 7 type, and other kit cars so long as mounting points are not too far back from usual 7 mountings directly behind rear seats!" IF YOU WERE UNSURE THEY WOULD FIT THEN YOU SHOUD HAVE ASKED BEFORE. Quote
