lippydave Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Well it cheered me up after the footy debacle.... Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Hammond looked like a sad old lounge lizard! Quote
pistonbroke Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 slowly morphing himself into a michael jacko lookalike ? Quote
carpetstu Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 The Robin reliant bit at the end seemed a bit pointless, mind saying that the entire program seemed to be based on how to waste an hour without any real content! The only half decent bit IMHO was the James May trip to the volcano! Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Well actually Bernie, he's steadily getting darker of complexion - a sort of mirror-image Jacko? Quote

I agree with you there, it was all amusing and worth the laugh but had no real substance, what was the laptime of the bently? Mays bit was good and some of the spins but it did seem like a 1hr paytime for the three of them, hopefully it was just first show hype and they will actually do something usefull for the next show. echoz Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I enjoyed it very much I don't understand why everyone has this problem with TG. Sure the things they do are pointless, but isn't that the point? because it gives us an hour of sillyness that we all want to do but simply aren't allowed or can't afford to do, I find it a good laugh/relax and something to look forward to before the next 5 days of monotony begin Quote
bhouse Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I found myself laughing at it but the Reliant routine was basically the same sketch the Keystone Kops and generations of circus clowns have been peddling for decades. I thought that Clarkson's responses to the inevitable topples were excellent - he looked genuinely surprised even though it was all meticulously planned. Quote
Bananaman Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Fell asleep.............. might have been the 6 pints of larger drank during the footie Quote
carpetstu Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I don't understand why everyone has this problem with TG. Normally, I would be the first to defend their shenanigan but I found this one a bit too pointless. Maybe I was just to p****d off after the football to watch more crap on TV? It's recorded so I might watch it again and see if my sense of humour has returned. Quote
oldman Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I found the Reliant Robin bit very amusing.Maybe it was because my father in law always had one and ferried around 9 kids in the back.Never turned it over tho due to the ballast in't back. Quote
cabbron Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 yep the reliant bit was funny, hammond just grates-taken as light hearted entertainment and not a serious car programme it still hits the spot. Quote
