Got my first for 3 points for doing 86mph in a 70mph asked for proof it was me driving as the wife and i shared the driving back from Cornwall got a lovely picture of me at the steering wheel, so took it on the chin 3points £60 fine thank you very much.

There were camera vans on the M5 south bound just north of Michael wood services on Wednesday at 3pm. A "friend" was rushing to get to watch the game and sailed through at 90...

Hoping they were just number plate readers as they were pulling cars in at the next junctions. Something to do with all the rough northerners coming down for Glasto apparently

I got 3 pts and 60 quid for 93 on m56 years ago. Next day got another nip for 3points and 60 quid for 95 for the same day. Turns out same guy same camera just the otherway on the 56 about 20 mins later. Was advised  to take the points and shut up as if I'd been doing 95.5 the camera would have registered as 96 and I'd hav got a summons as well as my previous 3 points.... Needless to say I laugh now but at the time was not overly happy.

Cheque and license now sent off....just has a good thought though - bit of quick calculation, I'll work out how much I have to pay my wife in admin fees for "helping" write the related letters, address the envelope and stick the stamps etc, pay her accordingly, and as I was on business claim it all against tax, and as the "penalty" is not a fine, I suspect I can claim that one back too, as I was on business at the time. Can't do anything about the points, but should be able to come out in profit against tax....(sort of) Result !
