CrashBangWallop Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 140mph in a westy Yeah... I was a bit dubious of that. Though, however improbable, it is possible. I should have thought a bit more about it. Quote
lippydave Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Well 7sRwild, I just got back in from my garage at 1.00am after pulling all the intake off and replacing the valley gasket of my V8. I'd hoped to make tomorrow's Cannock run here in the UK, but my Dad was told today that after 4 wks in hospital, he gets to have a triple bypass on Monday or Tuesday, so I guess I should go and visit him tomorrow, which rules out an all day blat... However when that Westie fever grips it grips, so I spent the last couple of hours wrenching just so's I could get a couple of hours solo blatting early tomorrow...errrr I mean today.... Once it gets you, it gets you good... Enjoy the motah and let your accelerator foot go free wherever you may be.... Quote
7sRWild Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 Hey lippy dave. Gald that you got your ride up and running again. Hope all went well for your Dad. You are right, once the bug bites it bites hard. Well.. me and the wife were at it again(calm down Steve D) motoring I mean.. Did our second run out yesterday, put another 120 miles under our belts. Damn this all I hoped it would be, and then some. Never really gave much thought as to how much of a posers car this is. Everyone from Grannies to Bikers want to check it out. Started the day off with brilliant sunshine, went to huge cross winds and finished off with a rain storm. Still had Permagrin..The missus calls the car "HER MAJESTY" Quote
7sRWild Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 I apologise. I did think you meant mph. My mistake. No worries Crash... should have said Kms.. Its all GOOD.. Quote
lippydave Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Who says a Westie cant do 140mph! If 7srwild had chosen air freight instead of sea freight, surely his westie would have gone far quicker than 140 mph? Quote

My Westie is my only refuge at the moment, I seem to have bombs going off all around me.... My Dad's waiting on his triple bypass and valve replacement, my Mom is in bits without my Dad, and my younger brother in Canada has been diagnosed with stomach cancer....My mother-in-law is showing Alzheimers symptoms and recently fell over and broke her arm, (She's 77 same as my Pa), and my father-in-law has virtually lost any remnants of his sight over the last few months.... Oh and one of my grown-up daughters is in bits 'cos she broke up with her boyfriend.....My eldest dauhter isn't talking to me, 'cos I upset her mom... All aided and abetted by the fact that my wife is a compulsive worrier anyway....Sheeesh!! My somewhat robust sense of humour isn't always an asset when it's all going t**s up either.... I tell you what, a blast in the Westie, or a spannering session in the garage with a Stella, some music and the dogs chewing on old mallet stales is a b****y great escape from the general lunacy of everyday life.... My wife calls my car "That blooody orange thing"......She really has no idea quite what a valuable resource its is..... Quote
7sRWild Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 holy chit Dave, wish I lived closer, I'd take you for a b****y good pint. It dont rain, it b****y pours eh! Chin up mate it can only get better from here. ( bit tongue in cheek) my troubles in this crazy world dont seem b****r all compared to that lot. My thoughts are with you mate.. Dont let that Westie go, we all need an escape. Quote

Your obvious delight in the Westie transcends the keyboard, and I think it put a smile on a lot of other folks faces seeing your big cheesy grin in that tiny little car.... Life's too short to worry about stuff, so let's get blatting.... Quote

(Westy + Sainbury's car park + snow = big grins :-) ) OK, I'm a big wuss. A big nearly 50 year-old wuss with severe arthritis that likes warmth and has acquired a degree of common sense over the years, especially after driving the Westy 100 miles once at -3 C on the motorway for a rolling road session and got mild frostbite. Guilty as charged. Each to their own. Quote
