DickieB Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I thought Alonso (who I don't like) did incredibly well to chase down Button given the awful gearbox problems he was having - I can't imagine going into corners with a boxful of neutrals as he did every time (unlike my track day last week when the gearstick snapped off in my hand! ) Quote
adamnreeves Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 well I had recorded on Sky plus. Watching it this evening and last thing I heard was "With going over to BBC2, change-over will be instantainous". Boloxs. I have missed the last 23 laps because Sky plus didn't switch over! Utter stupidity of the BBC. Quote

Nic Ayre Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I thought the warning to Hamilton for excessive weaving was over the top, I believe this was brought in to stop continuous blocking. In this case Hamilton was trying to break the tow and it was obvious Petrov was following him wherever he went, thankfully it didn't result in a penalty, but with some of the dodgy Stewards decisions of the past I was half expecting one. Erm. Hamilton is starting to show signs of bad sportmanship lately though. Last race he was questioning the team over the radio and then repeated this numerous times to the media. Quote
Hilts Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 OK sort of race, pitty it's takes the weather to make it anything like interesting. I think they need to reduce turbulence behind the cars and get back to the boost button and we might at last get some decent overtaking. To me 1 or 2 great moves in a 50-60 lap race is not good enough, the BTCC was better on ITV4!!! As for Shuey other than Senna not seen anyone to touch him. Cannot spend lap after lap practising like he used to and that combined with 3 years out is costing him, plus car is not quick enough. If Ferrari and Mclaren had got qualifying right Rosberg would have been 5-6. Hope Shuey sticks at it and can start to challenge, then we will see who has lost their nerve. He has always been a great driver with a great team, says so himself and as for strutting along the pitlane why not the kids do the same after winning nothing! Quote
Carl Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Scumacher: too early to tell. With both Benetton and Ferrari it took him a season to get up too speed / car too his liking. Quote
pistonbroke Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 The day Schumaker wins both Le mans and the Indy 500 to compliment his "5" world C's Ill rate him as best ever driver (of an F1 car fitted with god knows how many driver aids ) Quote
Fangio2 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 HE'S GOT AIDS?! Nor surprised - all those years of ramming people up the rear. Quote
FW500 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 The day Schumaker wins both Le mans and the Indy 500 to compliment his "5" world C's Ill rate him as best ever driver (of an F1 car fitted with god knows how many driver aids ) He has "7" fully deserved world championships. And anyone that wants to single ANY of histories drivers out as 'The best' is really only going convince himself. Schumacher is the best driver of his generation IMO. Hamilton's warning for weaving was fair enough IMO. Whether he was weaving all over the track to break a tow or to block doesn't bother me - either way he was doing it to prevent Petrov from getting past - smacks of desperation to me. Quote
pistonbroke Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 So good that he needs to run people off the road because he cant beat them fairly , even block the track completely so he cant get beaten to pole position Best of his era ? most winning driver? Yes , but that doesnt make him best , IMO Quote
