Its unfortunate that in today's society the criminals have more human rights in this country than the victims.

In my opinion once the scum cross the line they automatically sign away their human rights and should have no come back if they get injured in the act.

Its about time every man has a right to defend his castle / family / possessions without fear of the liberal "do gooder" minority.

Too right. I remember that chap a few years ago (Tony someone) that got put away for 2 years for shooting a pikey who was breaking into his house one night.

Tony Martin. He killed a burglar with a shiotgun that he owned illegally.

I agree in principal with intruders having no rights once they are on your premises, but the law does make a distinction. In Tony Martins case, the burglar was fleeing empty handed and was shot in the back. The law considered that to be unreasonable.

You can use reasonable force to defend yourself and your property, and despite Moonclouds misgivings, homeowners rarely *actually* get prosecuted for this sort of thing. The story of a criminal reporting a law abiding citizen for defending himself is a good story, especially for the Daily Mail. In reality, there will be no follow up story detailing the conviction of said citizen in favour of the crook 'cos it just won't happen.

As usual, don't necessarilly believe what you read in the tabloids. It's not what they say, it's what they don't say.

To make sure, do some research for yourself and work out just how many of these stories actually turn in to convictions. The odd one or two do, and they will have extenuating circumstances, but the vast majority don't even get to court.

The one that cropped up recently was the case of a burglar who was battered in to brain damage with a cricket bat. The homeowner with the bat was charged and convicted because he chased the burglar for some distance before the assault took place, and the court considered that this action was not proportionate to the threat. That said, the Court of Appeal freed him here...

The only thing that tony martin did wrong was to not finish him off and then bury the piece of s**t 14 foot down in his field.

Er, he did finish off the 16 year old burglar, 'cos he was dead!

See here and try to work out why he was convicted of killing a 16 year old...

Er, I was talking about brendon fearon, the one he only wounded.

The bloke should have got a medal not time, two less scumbags in the world.

Had it been your 16 year old son, running away scared from a mad man with a shotgun, your perspective may be a bit different.

I understand that you're p****d off with the scumbags who prey on us law abiding citizens, but summary execution is a bit extreme...

My son is a decent hard working man.

Breaking into some ones house to steal their property would not even enter his head. Even at the age of seven and eight it would not have occured to him.

Probably because he was taught from an early age that this sort of behaviour is unacceptable. Therefore he would never had put himself in that situation.

If the two ****s had had some sort of decent upbringing by their pikey parents they probably would not have been there.

The two little ****s knew they were in the wrong and they didnt care, right up to the time when they came unstuck.

Madman (According to the papers) or not Tony Martin gets my vote.

Maybe the parents of the scumbag that got killed have a different perspective now.

Tell me blatman, whats the chance of your kids being scared ****less and running away from a madman in his OWN HOUSE . I bet its zero same as my kids.

You seem to want to defend these people and say they have rights to this and that, what you have not said about tony martin is that these two  :arse: holes

repeatedly broke into his home and stole as much as possible and thought it was a laugh. The Police didnt give a toss as usual, and so the guy lost it and shot them. The papers accuse him of being mad because they only only know a few facts about the case so make up a story as usual.

This is away from my o/p but the principle is the same, if i had caught the b*****ds nicking my gear, i would be in a cell at the moment.

I really believe the vast majority of people feel the same way and as far as im concerned it aint to extreme ???

There was a time when people were starving , stole a loaf to feed there hunger got caught and were jailed or sent to the workhouse or even worse deported .

In today's welfare society there isnt really any excuse for thieving,  other than laziness and greed , both of which seem to be encouraged by the current laws of this same society .    :sheep:

Hi Tony sorry to hear about your van getting done over by some low life scum, from what you said i'm glad you did'nt catch them or you would have found yourself in a whole lot of trouble, your to nice a bloke for that to happen to.

Any way if you want to have a look in my garage or sheds for some gear to use until you get yourself sorted your more than welcome, you know where i live, i may be along to the meet on Sunday but as its Harry's first birthday that might be a bit hard. The good weather should be just around the corner so look foreward to you trying to keep up!!!!!!!!!!!! :p  :p  :p

Hi Tony,

Feel I have to reply to your post. This is very close to my heart. I'm a Joiner, and have built up my tools over many years and had about 4 grand's worth stolen when my garage was broken into. I unconditionally agree with you and I would have done the same in your son's situation if not worse.

Apparently he was that brain damaged that he has since gone on and committed other similar offenses (So was he that badly injured or is it just for his claim ???).

Thanks bryan really appreciate the offer and hope to see you sunday

judder.......... i think i would have cried...and whats worse is the b*****ds aint got a clue what half these tools do.  People who are not in the trade dont realise that

most chippies and joiners and builders take their tools to their grave, but its also that it takes a lifetime to  get this sort of kit together and they cant be replaced with a quick trip to B and b****y Q.

Mooncloud......you summed it up mate, cant believe that they have the front to rob someone and complain about being clobbered, then claim compensation

Sorry to hear you been on the recieving end of more low life scum (bring back corperal punishment as far as i`m concerned for repeat offenders and yes i`d quite happily be the one metering out the punishment). The chap who lives opposite me (same line of work as me and yourself) had his van done over twice in the space of a couple of weeks. The first time it happened his missus told us he was sitting in the house crying because the scum had cleared his tools out and he didnt know how he was going to be able to work. I ended up lending him a couple of tools to get him going again only to have them robbed when his van was done over the second time, so now i`m down tools as well as him (fortunatly these were my spare old stuff so I can get by without them). So as you can appriciate I dont care a toss if any theiving scum gets his come uppance, you break the law you forfiet ALL yours rights. And as for what happened in the case of Tony Martin, well one less scrote sponging off normal people.
