Cleggy the Spyder Man
thought I would have a tidy up and see what it would look like with a bit of paint on it used one of these things for the first time - a flap wheel and then finished off with 25mm emery cloth which is ideal for wrapping around the bends with a push pull motion and keeps me warm too much better at getting a smoother finish than my usual method (grinding disk) bit more work required on the other side and the bottom brackets and I can put this bit to the side for the time being maybe me one day

Cleggy the Spyder Man
Welds looking really good cleggy. What TIG did you ened up getting? Aidan I used a very helpful m8's - I am sorta looking out for one though as I was so impressed with the how it came out - and with a bit more practice could be much better still the lesson I have learnt - mig is great for straight runs, easy to get to bits and tacking things up - but nothing beats a tig for smooth flowing welds and was surprisingly easy to use I would imagine that ali is a different ball game though and may take a lot more practice
Cleggy the Spyder Man
rear framework tidied up and bit of spray out of a can so I can check out where it needs a bit of extra work really happy with the results taking shape slowly
Cleggy the Spyder Man
seem to remember posting a link up to this company a while ago - now looks like they are ready to sell their wares http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PORSCHE....0437c9d pictures of their build http://s986.photobucket.com/albums....ideshow looks lovely but cannot imagine too many punters wanting to part with 22k for what is essentially a beetle with a bit of curvey fibreglass stuck on top

Cleggy the Spyder Man
also finished off these ready for fitting and have started making up the brackets to weld onto the framework - TBH didnt really nead to be rose jointed, I just fancied doing them that way - guess if I add some storage in the back there it may help on the lookout for some bench mounted metal shears as I am going to make a start on putting some flooring in soon - anybody got a machine that is no longer required and wish to sell? Just for you bernie
