Onliest Smeg David
Austin Princess - really my Dads, but the car I passed my test in and drove when given permission to until I owned my first car. MkII Escort Estate, ex MOD in Black - known as 'The Hearse' to 'friends'. Went through my first and only 720 spin on the road in this, and learnt a lot about driving that I didn't realise I'd gained until I owned my Westfield. Reliant SS1600i - had a tuned XR3 engine - cr*p build quality, but it had character and I loved it! It was my 1st sports car after all. Bought it when I got my first full time job but Sold it when I started driving 20k plus for work plus social use. Honda CRX vvt - brilliant car, the one car from my past I would buy again as a classic. But too costly for me at the time. Honda Civic - got crushed by falling scaffolding while I was working, scaffolder skipped the country to avoid H&S locking him up. Citroen AXGT - brilliant car again, so much fun to drive. Ran it into the ground with high mileage. Several different AX's (small petrol/diesel) - ALL absolute rubbish and hated them, but were dirt cheap to run and came with free insurance. I forget which one and in which order - in fact I wish I could forget them full stop! But they helped me afford my first house, along with a second job as a school cleaner. Citroen ZX Volcane D - very capable car but not particularly nice. Lost me promotion at work following the time I left the Area Managers Alfa Sud for dead when he was trying to keep up with me. Citreon Saxo VTS - back to a great handling, fun car. But kept unwinding it's spark plugs! Punto 2.0 Diesel - what was I on to buy this! Must have been a good finance offer. Had 2 new engines under warranty, and 2 sumps payed for by me! Fabia VRS Diesel - Mapped to 190ish with TT brakes and uprated clutch. Enjoyed owning this one, not the greatest of handlers, but good fun. Westfield SEiW 1.8 zetec, jenveys/head/cams 180bhp, everything one could want of a roadgoing track capable sports car. Just all round fun! Wife's MX5 mkII, great handling budget fun. Makes me want a MkI for fun times when I can't take the Westfield out. Octavia VRS D - Another very capable car. Both Skodas run by me for around 100k miles. Great tow car for the Westfield. Wife's MX5 mkIII automatic (Dads hand us down), capable fun but ultimately slightly lacking. BMW 125D - Current main car, have been very impressed. Very quick and capable, with economy. Despite it's massive ability, slightly lacks involvement.
