Dom's car summary is also a summary of our conversation history over many years at work. Particularly the BMW M3 touring that never was onward.

Anyone as I haven't owned that many really here are mine.

1. Peugeot 106 1.3 Rallye

This was pre-digital camera and I can't find the picture is scanned. Alas an insurance mix-up resulted in this being insurers by my Mum briefly and sold without me ever driving it.

2. Peugeot 106 1.6XSi

My first car proper and the start of my fine tradition of spending at least what the car was originally worth on it! I ended up ruining it frankly. By the time it left me it had a 16v engine from a GTi with PeugeotSport ecu, cams, exhaust and engine mounts. It was also stripped out in the back, had bucket seats and harnesses and was on some GrpN Bilsteins. Also had Hi-Spec 4 pot front calipers and some 16" Speedline wheels that were too big.

This photo was taken at the Haynes museum test track but I also took it round Silverstone GP circuit.

3. Peugeot 205 1.6 GTi

I sold the 106 to buy a join 206 GTi with my then girlfriend. We both disliked it and it was at a time we were beginning to seriously dislike each other so sold it and I paid off my debts and bought the 205 for £500. Spent about £1k on it getting it set up and new coolant hoses. Fantastic car. Shame it had to go.

4. BMW e36 328i Sport

I always wanted a BMW e36 coupe so stretched myself to buy this. Then the engine broke (new short engine from BMW later..) followed by numerous other bits that needed replacing. Spent a fortune and it also ended up stripped out as a road car! Did quite a lot of track days including the Ring.

5. BMW e36 323i Sport touring

I bought this as a daily driver so I could use the 328 as a dedicated track day car. It has been fantastic for something that cost £1,500 and owned it 4 years so far. While the aircon no longer work (stone punctured the radiator and air con rad) and it is rusting it does the job.

6. Westfield SEiW 1.8 Zetec

Started like this:

And ended up like this:

Some days I miss it but despite pouring money into it it was never quite what I wanted it to be. I'm not sure I knew what that was at the time.

7. Porsche 996 Carrera 4

Bought this in Dec '14. I'd always loved 911s and the 996 was the 911 for my generation. Sadly the Turbo was out of reach. Unfortunately the engine is going to cost me a fortune imminently!

Ford Anglia 105E

Fiat 850 Special (only thing that made it special were the badges saying 'special' which always amused me). First car legally on the road. Generated a lot of welding practice.

Fiat 124 Sport AC Cracking car. My first decent motor really.

Fiat 124 Sport BC

Fiat 124 Sport CC

Lancia Beta Monte Carlo S1

Lancia Beta IE Another good car.

Lancia Beta 1.6 Terminal rot-box from day 1.

Alfa 164 V6

Westfield SEi *

Pilgrim Sumo RV8 Can't turn a sows ear into a silk purse. Might look OK from a distance, but it's still part pig up close.

Marcos Mantula Spyder RV8 Started as a live axle car with a tired 3.5 on carbs and bump steer at both ends so bad it was funny. Finished with an injected 4.2, Jaguar IRS and entirely new front suspension geometry but minus the bumpsteer and plus much improve ride & handling.

Alfa 164 V6

Volvo estate (can't even recall the model number, big silver box with wheels IIRC)

Capri 2.8i. A hoot to drive this one - amazing value for money too.

Lancia Thema 8V Turbo. My only turbo car. Comedy turbo lag but great fun when you hit the whoosh-zone.

Jeep Cherokee 4.0

CAE Corse S

Lancia Thema 16V VIS. Real wood trim, Alcantara upholstery, pipe & slippers. What's not to like? Oh, the terminal rust of course.

Alfa 155 V6

Alfa 166 3.0 *

Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 *

Currently working towards building a 'Midlana' LoCost-style mid engine so have another Alfa 166 that is rapidly returning to component form as I strip it for parts.

Some overlap on these.

* Still in the fleet.

ETA forgot a couple of Alfas....

2003 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 SXI - awful mint green first car. Hit a tree and rolled it.

2001 Peugeot 307 2.0 diesel boring car.

2007 Peugeot 308 Company car.

1999 Ford Fiesta 1.25 ghia stop gap.

2009 Volvo S40 1.6 R-Design lovely car looked like an undercover police car.

1995 Land Rover Discovery 3.9V8 modified for green laning

2001 Vauxhall Omega 3.0V6 MV6 brought from auction it was an ex met police car. When I took the door card off to find out what was rattling I found an empty gun round.

2006 Ford Mondeo Ghia 2.0 diesel did what it said on the tin remapped and removed the DPF

Several Vauxhall insignia company cars including a 1.8i and 2.0 diesel.

2006 Audi TT Quattro Sport 245 limited edition 2 seats and remapped. Actually my dads car but I had it for 3 months.

2007 BMW e92 320d remapped to 220bhp and lowered. I sometimes miss this car.

2010 BMW f10 530d currently own and about to be remapped to unleash 650nm!

2010 Westfield 4.6V8 currently own.

Next purchase

BMW 640d or perhaps a 335d estate 2014 onwards
