BigSkyBrad Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 I've cheated and cut'n'pasted this list from a similar thread from a couple of years ago, with a couple of additions. The first four cars are chronological, then I gave up, so the rest are as they came to mind. I've a bit of a thing for old-school JDM, and some would argue I've gone for quantity over quality. However,I regret buying only three cars, and of the rest, a good dozen I really regret selling. Every car and bike, I modified someway large or small. I'd be a millionaire if I hadn't bought and modded so many vehicles, but I wouldn't have had so much fun and made such nice friends and met interesting folk. I'm glad I bought a Westfield.😉 1977 Skoda S110L 1977 BL Mini LE (Cooper'd) 1981 Vauxhall Chevette (Celica 18R-GR power) 1981 Toyota Celica GT (RA45 - 18R-GEU) 1981 Toyota Celica ST (TA63 - 3T-EU) 1977 Mazda B1600 flatdeck ute 1976 Vauxhall Viva HC 1800 1975 Triumph 2000TC 1980 Toyota Crown 2400 Super Saloon 1987 Toyota Crown 2000 Royal Saloon Supercharger 1984 Toyota Starlet-S tarmac-rally/sprint 1980 Toyota Celica Supra tarmac-rally/sprint 1989 Toyota Town-Ace 1-ton flatdeck truck 1992 Nissan Silvia Q's 1980 Honda Prelude 1800 1989 Nissan Navara Kingcab flatdeck ute 1981 Toyota Chaser Avante 1981 Toyota Cressida 1997 Nissan Lucino coupe 199? KevanP Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Humm from memory here goes: Mk1 Escort 1300 GT - wrote off 3 times (rebuilt it 3 times) and blew the engine up. Popped in a Burton built 1300 xflow, tuftrided crank, powermax pistons, A3 cam on 40s, with janspeed exhaust - such fun and sounded beautiful! Mk1 Escort Mexico - loved it a sensible daily.... but still fun Mk1 Escort fully rally prepared, 1300 full race all steel, cosworth pistons, chambered head, big wing shell etc an amazing machine - picture below. ticked over at 3000rpm, power came in at 7000rpm and redlined(safe) to 10,000rpm - wonderful screamer! Sold and retired due to getting hitched... Mini 1000 - gearbox failed, stuck on 3rd gear and attempted to blow the engine up, but couldn't do it, replaced gearbox and engine and sold it to a nurse! Mini Cooper - another sensible daily, but lots of fun Mk2 Escort 1600 Sport - sensible car used for towing the rally car around - a bit light for that really... Mk2 Fiesta XR2 - sold to get hitched Mk3 Escort 1600 Ghia - got hitched - boring! Mk3 Escort XR3i - was still hitched Ford Sierra 2000i GLS - wrote of off once and rebuilt it - kids arrived.... Renault Laguna RTS - hated this car couldn't wait to get rid of it Rover 420gsi - #1 company car - really hated this car, but revv'ed amazingly BMW 320i - #2 company car BMW 320d - #3 company car BMW 120d - #4 company car and my favourite one - plus got un-hitched! Toyota Rav4 2.0tdi - towing needs... BMW X3 2.0d xdrive - advanced towing needs Mini One - wifes - wrote off Mini CooperD - wifes - wrote off Mini Cooper Petrol (wife current car) - 3rd time lucky its still going and in one bit.... BMW 420d (current car) - not impressed, cant wait to get rid - electronic steering is awful! Westfield (current car) - need I say more.... I really wish I'd kept the Escort Mk1's and Mk2 plus original Mini Cooper - they'd have been worth a fortune now. Quote
