Paul Walsh Chassis Statement

Julian Turner - Westfield Sportscars Ltd

Mark, this one is best left I think. If you want a new race chassis, then you order it as such, and it is made from lighter gauge tubing. If you, or a subsequent owner, use it on the road, with all the irregularities that entales, it may well break. I have a standard CEC chassis, and have recently "upgraded" my engine to 237 bhp. I specifically asked the question, whether or not I ought to upgrade the chassis with some additional bracing, and if so what. I was assured it was not necessary, the chassis is ok, IF it is a CEC road spec chassis.

QUOTE
why was a chassis of thinner wall steel supplied in the first place,

The chassis was supplied (around 2004 sometime) specifically in accordance with the owner/builders request, it was Mr P. Walsh that specified his own requirements for this chassis.
