Bob Green Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 OK I have loaded the programme onto an XP PC in the garage and seems OK. I am about to load the same programme on my Vista PC. Lets see! Quote
Bob Green Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Add /Remove has already been done i.e. no Canon files on the (Vista) PC. Reloaded the disc, took some silly images and still ZoomBrowser will not recognise the camera. Is that a incompatibility thing with Windows and Vista? Quote
Blatman Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 No, now you need to do the Vista download from the Canon web site. If I were you, I'd save the Canon download to a file or to a CD so that you can load it faster and not use your internet connection every time But before you do, read the blurb about the download. It may be that you don't actually need to load the disc first. I don't know, but you need to, so get reading... Quote

pistonbroke Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 You might also need this for vista ... eos update No 7 on the list, EOS Utility updater for windows Quote
Bob Green Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 I see that but is it just for a 450? Quote
Bob Green Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 OK I have just downloaded the link. What do I do now? Quote
pistonbroke Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 scroll down to the Download thing (printed in RED ) download the K8A47enx.exe file run the file from your PC after you have downloaded it Quote
Bob Green Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Still doesn't recogise the camera Quote
Blatman Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 With the camera plugged in to the Vista machine, open Windows Explorer (hold down the Windows key and press the letter E) or click My Computer (Start > My Computer, unless you have a My Computer shortcut on the Desktop, in which case double click that...). Do you have an "extra" drive volume in the list? If not, tell me what is listed. Should be a C: drive and a D: drive. C is the internal hard drive, D is the CD/DVD drive. E should be the camera. If it's there, then it's recognised, but it isn't auto running the software... Quote
pistonbroke Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Also should ask , what mode is the camera set to when you are trying to connect ? Is it possible to connect to Windows Vista when the camera is set to PTP/Print mode. Quote
Bob Green Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Now here this...... now here this. OK. I have just downloaded EOS Utilities and it "appears" to read the camera! The crap images I took earlier just to ensure there was no imperfections on the card have come out. I'm not getting a hard on with excitment yet as, to be honest, I have had enough of uninstalling and installing programmes for one day. I have the communication set to PTP/Print and it appears to work. I will take the camera to work tomorrow and take some images in both JPEG and RAW on a formatted Extreme card and will report back. I have to say the support and help I have received today is like no other. People who give their time to assist is invalueble to a IT numpty like me and I appaud your patience. However, it's not over yet!! Lets see how tomorrows images turn out. Thank you. Quote

When I go in to ZoomBrowser, I don't seem to be able to open any files. Yours Angry from Measham Quote
