JeffC Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 i went cold turkey and havent had a biccie or cake this year, quite an achievment after eating 12 biscuits a day for far too long Quote
highwayman Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 When I used to run marathons I used to do a lot of runs around golf courses , usually the fringes when the fair weather golfers weren't there. The undulations and softer ground helped me work harder and reduce the impact you get running on tarmac. The other exercise I used to do was 'spinning' (as in restance cycling to music not the cotton or wool making! ) excellent for accelerating fitness level as it was as hard as you made it and shedding the pounds and a lot of sweat! Bean Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Remember to stretch, before and after exercising. Quote

Bean Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Went for a run last night, first time since getting over a damn cold. Only did the local three mile route, felt harder than usual since I'm not quite 100% yet. Stood on the scales the other day, not been doing this regularly, weigh just under 14 stone. So I'm happy I now have a target weight, 13 stone dead on. Quote
Asterix Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Got down to 12st 11lb but lapsed, currently at 12st 13lb. Good news is that I've turned the 1 bottle of wine per night into 1 bottle of wine per week. Quote
Bean Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Not been running for two weeks, been doing my kitchen plus other excuses Cracked the 14 stone barrier and not put any weight on, so that can't be bad JeffC, are you lighter than air yet? Quote

Bean Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I hate the gym, as I've said before. I'm still happy running with a mate, not to keen going by myself even with the MP3 player. Not been swimming for ages or climbing, would like to get back into both. Quote
Asterix Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 12st 9.5lb here this am, and that's after Frankie & Benny's pizza on Friday, Pizza Hut on Saturday and full 3 course meal on Sunday. No exercise yet. Not as good as Jeff's loss but that's 11.5lbs off since January. First time I've been the right side of 12st 10lb since last August IIRC Quote
a4gom Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Not sure if its my scales or my weight but it does seem to fluctuate quite a bit if I take the average reading I've probably lost about 11lb since this started. I haven't changed my diet or drinking habbits so I'm pretty happy with that. I'm not 100% convicted so may miss the odd training if the weathers bad but I have been jogging for about 25-30mins (about 3 miles) depending on route 3 times a week. I'm doing it on my own so have been getting a bit bored so I've dropped a run and started swimming once a week for 25-30 mins. Swimming I average out about 30 second lengths and the baths is 25 yards so around 3/4 of a mile. Quote
