Chris Elworthy Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 This T-Shirt would be funny if it was worn with someone who didn't look like there was some element of truth in it. Lets cling to any excuse not give this idiot citizenship. Quote
Tubs Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 If you think about that statement what do you think it says about yourself I would have said it shows someone with consideration for others. Yes, but selected others i.e. women and children, which is discrimination. This is not a criticism, just an observation. Also, this forum has a swear filter I believe, so is the action of the authorities in this case any different and why should humour make foul language acceptable. If I had children, especially young children, then I would find this offensive. Tubs Quote
pistonbroke Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Poor guy is just a simple attention grabber , probably rejected by his mother and needs treatment for his inferiority complex Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 ...If I had children, especially young children, then I would find this offensive... Then surely you should find it offensive anyway because it leads to a society that tolerates crudity and bad taste. When (if) you do have young children the society that exists then will have evolved under your watch. Look after the standards now for the future of your descendants. Just my 2p worth. Quote

Bazzer Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Can someone explain to me why certain words are so bad that people think its a crime to utter them in front of women and children ? Bazzer Quote
v7slr Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I've got one of these: http://www.stunt-dangler.co.uk/ Mmm... you'll have to edit the link yourself to make it work. Think "member" and you'll be close. ... and I wear it with discretion, i.e. when I'm amongst friends who I know would appreciate it and not when I'm out shopping etc. Wore it to a family party once and wished I hadn't, although a few people thought it was great. On the whole though, where is the line drawn? I have an FSM T-shirt which if worn in Bible-belt America would have me shot I guess. No-one bats an eyelid in this country (so far). Having said that, I have a real belief behind the principles expressed by the FSM brigade so I would happily engage in discussion about it if challenged. The Stunt dangler T-shirt is for a bit of fun in the right company. Just ordered this one: http://www.justgofaster.com/Home....lt.aspx Now I *want* to make a statement with this one quite deliberately, but the language may offend some people so again, I'd wear it with discretion (until I wake up in a bad mood one day and decide to parade it around the local shopping centre). You're damn right the FSM is offensive with his noodly appendage.....us Celestial Teapotters worship the one true god. I feel a jihad coming on! Quote
Scottish Bloke Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 As before, he looks like a t*t, give him a fine then double it. The mullet should be a lockable offence on it's own. Sure he's got a really nice personality tho (cough t*sser gough) Send him back to the States, now that would be a "cunning stunt" Quote
*Emma* Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I absolutely HATE seeing French Connection "oops, i said a naughty word!" clothing. Quote

a4gom Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I don't find it offensive but I don't particularly find it funny either. Next thing you know it will be considered offensive to have a graphic of an a**e across the bonnet of your car. I'll tell you what I think while I'm on, I wish those moaning gets who think this is offensive and spend all their time worrying about petty stuff like this, human rights, racism etc would do something about all those lazy gets who are too idle to get a job and are living of my hard earned cash. Now thats what I call offensive. Sorry bad day Quote
Major Stare Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Wouldnt exactly say it was a "funny" t-shirt. What i dont like is;- Football stickers with a person urinating on another teams top. 4x4 Suzki drivers who like Rhino's humping on the spare wheel cover. Dont even get me started on kids that spit because footallers do and it makes them look cool/hard. Quote
samcooke Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I see on the local news he's 'demanding' an apology now. Offensive? Not to me but not great if your six year old reads it to you and wants to know what it means. As has been said, could be justifiable if funny and worn appropriately, but in a High Street (even in Pikeyborough) it shows a lack of consideration and respect. Hope he gets deported. Not BECAUSE he's foreign though Bazzer, his foreignness just happens to be handy way of stopping him spoiling common decency further in this country. @ *Emma* - pleased I'm not the only one. Quote
