peterg Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Norman Verona is attempting to organise a bulk buy of an 18v cordless impact wrench with 1 hour fast charger over on Blatchat but he needs to order 2150 to get the best price...which is just £22 these are ideal for quick wheel changes at track days or just to make life easier in the garage plus they're Please see the full thread here contact details are on page 2 but basically QUOTE NON MEMBERS CAN BLATMAIL ME BY CLICKING ON THE ENVELOPE AT THE TOP OF THIS POST TO REGISTER THEIR INTEREST or email norman@FrenchBlat.com PS: Norm organised a BB for alloy race jacks a few months ago getting them for IIRC about £50 when Demon Thieves sell them for £250 so he knows what he's doing... Quote
peterg Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Right, slight amendment as even Norman is doubting we could get 2150 orders for these wrenches so he's thinking of mixing the order with one for alloy low entry trolley jacks as above, DT sell 'em for £250 and you'd get one for circa £50 or less especially with the pound vs dollar exchange rate just now Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I'll be up for a Jack any pictures I already have a cordless impact wrench and to be honest is not as good as I expected if the wheel nut is tight it wont undo it. Quote
Blatman Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Ally jacks. If the pound keeps on doing well, these'll be 40 quid + shipping... Quote
Bananaman Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Ally jacks. If the pound keeps on doing well, these'll be 40 quid + shipping... I'll have one of them........ Quote
peterg Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 I spent £200 on a 19.2v cordless wrench a couple of years ago and even though that supposedly can generate something like 170lb ft of torque if the wheel's been put on by a hamfisted tyrefitter with an air wrench then it won't undo it....if, however, you're at a track day and you've carefully torqued the nuts correctly then it makes wheel changes a breeze The jacks are good from what I've heard and look plus they'll make good Christmas presents Quote
peterg Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Anyone wanting either a wrench or a jack MUST contact Norman direct via email at norman@frenchblat.com Quote

Blatman Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 They're the ones that were in the previous bulk buy if I'm not mistaken. Look familiar? Quote
peterg Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Yep, Blatters, Norman is dealing with the same guy direct in China where they're all made I'm 'almost' tempted to buy a dozen and Ebay 'em Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Blatman, they're very similar but have slight difference. The BB was over a year ago now, Peter, - how time flies. The DT price at the time, with VAT was £512. And we gave over £1000 to Leukimia Research Quote
Blatman Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say don't buy, I'm saying what a steal it is when the yanks have it for about the same price, and showing just how much mark up DT have on a *very* similar item... Like Pete, I'm tempted to buy a load of each and Ebay them after a short while.... Quote
