Buzz Billsberry Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I can see a ASBO coming. Will she be coming in Charlies Westy? Seriously tho' there are ways and means to resolve your problems. Always take revenge with the utmost stealth but do it!. Toe rags deserve to be treated like scum. Its very rare that the police or the authorities will do anything about it. inflicting a bit of their own medicine is good for the soul. Buzz Quote
Blatman Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Giving them a taste of their own medicine often means lowering yourself to their level. Yes revenge is sweet, but the cost can be high. I think the authorities are better at taking care of this sort of thing than they used to be, and they have pretty decent legislation to back them up. Quote
Thrustyjust Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Well they have 3 big dogs and long story about a large packet of spanish laxatives and am waiting for winter, when the dogs will be inside at night.Hey Ho...... I realise that there is 'no' bad dogs, only the owners. They sit in the garden, listening to them barking for hours!!!! Owners don't hear their own dogs.I know my nan didn't,when I was a kid and now know why her neighbour got pi$$ed off.The wife, who is still seething this morning is going to seek legal advice. Quote
Major Stare Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Speak to the council and complain. I had neighbours from hell a few years back at my last house. The council came round and i had to write down dates/times/details. My neighbours did the same and within 5 weeks a warning was given to the troublesome neighbours. We also reported to dog to the RSPCA. Shortly after they got rid of the dog. Whay dont you get all your neighbours togehter and knock on there door one night to "express your feelings" If all that fails try an AK47 Quote
Al Yupright Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Im not sure that's in place yet is it, doesnt it come in at the same time as bringing in the house selling "pack" where the seller pays for a survey etc beforehand? Not sure when that comes in? Had to fill in a form for my solicitors and earlier this week and it asks a lot of questions about neighbour disputes. I think the fact that it has been discussed on here would mean you'd have to write it on the form! Cos if someone bought your house and you hadnt declared it and then somehow they discovered you'd put it on here, you could be in trouble. Quote
blankczechbook Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 hi m8, sorry to here about the cat.. not much the council&police did for us when we had the mad mongrel dog from next door digging its way into our garden.. despite previous police action about it too... it had an order against it - or rather the owners did - but it counted for nothing in practice. And the council did sod all about repairing their fence.... and we had other kids scratch cars and chuck stones about happily.. ..so we moved !!! now the neighbours are MUCH further away! if you fancy a break - come for a visit! ps i like the idea of the laxatives for the dogs too !! Azzacat Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Really feel for you mate, sounds so familiar you could be living in my street, we have to A$$hole sisters moved in from nottingham, 4 kids roaming the village till all hours kicking balls at cars purely for the reaction, its like the mother has nothing in her life other than causing/getting into trouble, recently they removed all their kitchen units and several trees and shrubs from the garden and just dumped it in the spinney at the end of the road, My lad recorded it on his fone, it took 4 phone calls to the council before they were ordered to clean it up you could try adjusting your fuel on overun outside their house!!!! Good luck!! Quote
Mrs Westy Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 BTW, what is it with this board and the willingness of some to suggest various ways of causing animals slow and painful deaths! Deal with the real issue which is the neighbours themselves goodness me! Agreed - all that will be solved by giving laxatives to the dogs is a very unwell dog that is thrown out into the garden to suffer in the middle of winter and quite possibly given a genuine kicking for what it has done. Keep the animals out of it. Definitely sounds like ASBO territory, lots of Councils have an ASBO officer as well as Environmental Health who deal with the noise aspects, and the police of course. dangerous6 Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 You should get in touch with your local police beat officer, via your local police station and report you neighboure for a dangerous out of control dog. If enough of you report it they will re house it and stop the ownwers from keeping any more dog's for a while. Quote
Thrustyjust Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 I agree with not letting animals suffer, especially my close family companion, who had her ribcage ripped out by two dogs who the owners have never had and will never have control. We have logged the complaint with the rozzers who say 'oh well, dogs do that' Hey ho,people drown dogs, don't give a .......,was the issue to them.Try telling a 3 yr old his cats and friend is dead. Mark Stanton Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Sadly animals are only doing what comes instinctively .......... that's law of nature and the dog with its Alpha Male/female inbuilt survival However as humans your neighbour should know better and its only right to demonstrate the error of their ways, in whatever manner they are able to understand, be that a good physical slap or mental torture and anguish Quote
Andrew Mills Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Get in touch with the Council they will advise you to complete a diary of all events, get your neighbours to do the same to add weight to the situation. Contact the police each and every time they cause you a problem. Ask them for a crime reference number. They may not respond at the time but by asking for the number they can not ignore it as it is then added to their statistics. Again get your neighbours to do the same. Basically gather as much evidence as you can, diaries, photo's video, statements from neighbours etc. If they are in a rented property copy this to the land lord. Finally seek legal advice and get a solicitor to commence a civil prosecution for the potential devaluing of your house - But this will cost you. Unfortunately none of this is a quick result but at least it is legal and won't get you into court. Andrew Quote
mud Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 situations like this crop up from time to time and really pi55 me off, some 5crote breeding family effecting other peoples lives for entertainment.recommendations are :- leave the dogs well alone they are only animals get your missus and yourself along to the doctor and complain to him about feeling stressed and not sleeping due to neighbour troubles. He WILL make a note of the cause of the problem go round for the last time and tell the chap (not ask) the aggro has got to stop, do not give him a reason why. ie the missus is really upset , it will sound pathetic.these people WILL be habitual bullies and enjoy your explanation. if it continues get yourself a bat and smash his car to bits while he is sat inside his house.this will show him you have got more balls than he thinks you had(remember he is only doing this because he thinks can get away with it) sure he will go off his head and phone the police but i guarantee you after it has all died down he and his family will leave you alone.violence in broad day light from someone who normally is not violent will send a message to him that you are at the end of your tether and capable of anything. smashing his car will land you in bother with the police but this family will be known to them and it is only criminal damage so you will only get a slap on the wrist and pay costs after you have been into court and explained how much stress your family has been under(tell the court you are under the doctor for stress related illness) .IMPORTANT do not threaten him with the bat. carrying out the attack and being dragged off by the police will not be pleasant but the police will be sympathetic.they may even thank you. whoever says that violence solves nothing has'nt tried it hard enough. regards martin Quote
pistonbroke Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Kinnel Martin Bet yer neighbours all love ya Quote
Vinny's Westie Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Some of the above are a bit extreme to say the least. When the music is on just ring the Police if after 11.30pm and tell them they had better come and sort it out as its being going on for months, all of which you tell us is true. Tell the Police that if they don't come pretty quickly you feel like going around to them and turning the music off yourself. If you are forceful enough with the Police they will attend fairly quickly and make sure the neighbour knows the rules. The law says anyone can have music on at whatever level as long as no neighbour can hear it, if you can they have to turn it down. Night time is 11.30pm until 07.30am and noise levels have to be lower during this time, lorry reversing bleepers etc have to be turned off, it is an offence. Be polite and firm to the Police and they will do the work for you, it may take a couple of calls, just be strong worded enough, no swearing, to get your point across. It worked for me a couple of years ago, the problem stopped after two strong phone calls. The Police do not want neighbours going and sorting the matter our themselves, you will end up in trouble, remember the Tony Martin scenario. End result, peace and quiet with no law broken by you, what more do you want? Quote
