ChrisG Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Your probably right! It just doesent seam right, no finish no diggaty I guess an argument not to have a rule like that would be because you don't really want situations where a crashed or mechanically crippled car would be driven slowly back slowly to the pits by a driver, dropping oil / water / carbon etc onto the track whilst others are qualifying. Barry Ashcroft Posted May 27, 2006 Author Posted May 27, 2006 Another Brilliant Strategy from Ross Brawn: Massa parks his car in the first lap of quali and ends up last on the grid. Scummie parks his car on the last lap of quali and ends up first on the grid. Race: Scummie wizzes up behind Massa. Massa lets Scummie by with ease. Massa holds up the rest of the field. Scummie wins by 10 laps and is hailed by James Allen as the true genius he isn't. and from GrandPrix.com : GPDA rumblings Within minutes of the end of qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, there were rumblings in the paddock that a number of the F1 drivers are so unahppy about what happened to Michael Schumacher that the Grand Prix Drivers' Association is going to demand Schumacher's resignation from the board of directors of the organisation because they consider his manoeuvre at Rascasse to have been unsporting and detrimental to the image of the sport. Michael denied doing anything deliberate to get pole position for the race but the mood in the paddock and in the media centre was very clear indeed. Fernando Alonso did the right thing and remained diplomatic but everyone knew what he was thinking. The FIA Stewards are investigating the incident and their reaction will be interesting to watch as their credibility is, to some extent, depenedent on what they rule. Quote
pistonbroke Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 The argueing will go on all night . for and against , claim , counter claim . When the dust dies down , even if he were to be adjudged blameless it wont change public opinion. Slimemaker is a greasy toad , his reputation as a champion of champions is already tarnished by his past cheating way's , He should be struck off . What message does he give out to the young bloods ? that to cheat your way to the top is good !! Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted May 27, 2006 Author Posted May 27, 2006 This made me laugh Ferrari's never had mechanical failures, always "Electrical Problems"........ A con rod came through the side of the block and knocked the distributer off..... Quote

Barry Ashcroft Posted May 27, 2006 Author Posted May 27, 2006 Check this out incar clip of the corner. Yeah right mate at least try to look convincing !! ****** At the end of the clip he is taking his gloves off NOT going for the reverse as he said in the press confrence. BAN HIM Quote
ChrisG Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 ISTR he was actually waving his arms to jesture the marshalls rather than taking his gloves off, but either way its the second straighten up that gives it away to me. When looking at it from above he's going so slowly that there's no way he loses the back end and needs to correct, and he's past the barrier/apex by that time so has no need to straighten up again other than to ensure he can't make the turn. Quote
ChrisG Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Watching the second video from above, he doesnt re-apply lock until he's well over the white line half way across the road towards the outside barrier, and way past the apex. Some may say that he did that to ensure he didnt hit the inside barrier but if he can thread an F1 car through Monaco at full speed, Im damn sure he could have reacted and turned far quicker than he did Quote
nikpro Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 It doesn't matter as the renault is a better starter and beat Shchumacher to the first corner anyway! Quote
pistonbroke Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 It doesn't matter as the renault is a better starter and beat Shchumacher to the first corner anyway! Not when shewmy shows Al what ferrari barge boards are all about Quote
g1bby Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 reminds me of 1997 when he robed damon hill of the world title, when backed into a corner cheat.no way for the record breaking driver to behave Quote
ChrisG Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 That was '94, in '97 he tried to barge Villeneuve off in an atempt to win that championship Quote

Remindes me of the French GP when Senna worked out that the way to the fastest qualifyng lap was not to lift for the last corner. The downside to this was that he was guaranteed to wipe off the left side of the car of on the exit barrier. On the plus side the point of impact was after the timing beam Quote
Pepi Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Think this bit of the rule sheet might be of interest... Rule 116 at the bottom says it all.... come on stewards do your stuff!! QUALIFYING PRACTICE 115) The qualifying practice session will take place on the day before the race from 14.00 to 15.00. The session will be run as follows: a) From 14.00 to 14.15 all cars will be permitted on the track and at the end of this period the slowest five cars, taking into account only laps which were completed before the end of the period, will be prohibited from taking any further part in the session. Lap times achieved by the fifteen remaining cars will then be deleted. b) From 14.20 to 14.35 the fifteen remaining cars will be permitted on the track and at the end of this period the slowest five cars, taking into account only laps which were completed before the end of the period, will be prohibited from taking any further part in the session. Lap times achieved by the ten remaining cars will then be deleted. c) From 14.40 to 15.00 the ten remaining cars will be permitted on the track. The above procedure is based upon a Championship entry of 20 cars. If 22 are entered six cars will be excluded after each of the periods a) and b) and, if 24 are entered, six cars will be excluded after each of the periods a) and b) leaving 12 cars eligible for period c). 116) If, in the opinion of the stewards, a driver deliberately stops on the circuit or impedes another driver in any way during the qualifying practice session his times will be cancelled. Paul M Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Someone with his experience and legendery car control could easlily have got round that corner at that speed. Blatant attempt at cheating. Back of the grid & suspended 1 race ban would be the best option. He's proved before ( and paid the price) that he'll do anything when a championship is slipping away. Maybe he knows this is his last chance and will try anything. Quote
