neilwillis Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Dock leaves - a natural remedy for nettle stings. Jubblies that you sucked all the syrup out of, leaving a big triangular block of ice. Hassling the park keeper. Scrumping for apples. Getting chased down the road by the bloke that owned the apple trees. 30 a side soccer in the park - 4 hour games that ended when it got dark. Finding an old bike frame over the tip, and building your own bike (I wonder if that has any relevance! Meccano Threepence pocket money, and saving up sixpences in a jar for our holidays in a caravan in Gt Yarmouth. Bunkbeds. Camping out in the garden in the summer under a bedsheet stretched over the clothes line. 2 channels on TV and having to be quiet when the news came on or getting a belt off the old man. Darleks were scary! Mary Hill!!!!!! Quote

Bob Green Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Did anyone out there have a Gresham Flyer tricycle with a boot on the back? Christ, I had one of those, moving along to an Austin A40 peddle car with a boot! Flying Saucers, Sherbet Dabs and Blackjacks. I used to eat these at the funfair on Wimbledon common where my Grandmother and Grandfather lived. My grandfarther was a ranger on the common, living in various cottages then finally living out their days in the windmill. The Crooked Billet and Fox and Hounds pubs were special as I could go inside because of my grand parents! Happy days Quote
