Richgm Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Just been to see my doc to get some test results after having a TIA last August. Apparently I've got an abnormal amount of electrical activity in my right temporal lobe. Upshot of it is I might (My ) have an epileptic fit and I have been recommended not to drive. I'm now well p******** off. If they gave me the option of having a leg cut off or not driving I'd have been hopping round by now. This could take months to resolve and means I have to rely on others to get me to and from work plus the fact that I have a nervous breakdown whenever I get in a car with SWMBO. . So if anyone knows any good jokes then nows the time to post the. Rich Quote
Mark Stanton Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Now thats a real Rich gutted for ya can yer missus drop you off at Curborough in June Quote
Richgm Posted February 21, 2006 Author Posted February 21, 2006 Yes she can but with her time keeping expect me late August Quote
KerryS Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 That's a real b****r. My daughter had one fit when she was about 15, we think brought on by puberty and exam stress, but it f****d up her licence for years before she could have a full one as it was put down to epilepsy in a fit of NHS efficiency. oldman Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Rich,me sons got epilepsy....doesn't stop him from drivin (me up the wall). On a serious note.Them tests are non too accurate Quote
pistonbroke Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Sorry to here the sad news, I do hope it isnt too serious BTW How much will you be asking for the wessy Quote
steppenwolf Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Hi Rich, I don't know you but I am really sorry to hear about your predicament. Having recovered from the TIA and avoided the serious complication of a full stroke this must be very unwelcome news. There is a young girl that I call my daughter even though she isn't ( long story ) and she has something similar which is completely controlled by drugs which allow her to drive and have a normal life so even the worst case is resolveable. I hope any tests that you have work out the right way. I'm working on the joke ...... Quote
Richgm Posted February 21, 2006 Author Posted February 21, 2006 Thanks for the support folks makes me feel a little better. Chances are I a) Already had it or b) it's down to the TIA and is treatable with tablets Just that in this "I'm going to sue" culture that we live in the Doc's covering his ass. The unfortunate thing is if I decided to ignore the advice and drive, any accident and my insurance company can claim the policy is null and void. Quote
neilwillis Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 A guy I work with was stopped from driving too - he got his licence back in 6 months, so it may just be a short term inconvenience Quote
jak Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Sorry to hear that Rich. Excuse the ignorance, but what is TIA? John. Quote
pistonbroke2 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Bas sad news Rich. Stay with the WSCC though matey . They say that Laughter is the best Medicine ,the Jokes will follow. Arent there any Bent Doctors in Tamworth? If you moved to Southport and drove around there Nobody and I mean nobody would notice. There all Epileptic. Quote
