Bulk Buy Alloyhubs and Calipers

Right, for the record.I am pulling the plug on this.It seems that for the sake of saving myself and other members £20,it's really too much effort. If you want these hubs, please phone Stephen direct.Ihad started on sorting out some discs from Ian at the Kitcar Workshop that are lightened by Hi-spec and are £80 a pair, but I'll get shot down on that one too.

If you have sent a cheque,I will return them straight away. For the reference to others,Compbrake know Rally Design well and were asked to downprice items they made for them as they wanted 'cheap bulk buying'.The chap wouldn't lower his quality of items,so pulled out.Glad I don't have that cheap rotating stuff rolling on my car at an overpriced cost.

Thats it really.I've tried and it failed.I appreciate the 18 people who wanted parts and Windy made a direct call to sort out his Escort Grp4 hubs and owes me a beer.Butsomehow there's an easier and more blinkered life I've got to lead. I will pull this thread in a week. Thanks Guys

I feel this boardroom is going down hill in light of some of the trouble I have seen on here over the last month or so. Sorry you feel the need to pull the plug Justin but I do understand thanks all the same :t-up:

Edit:

I have had time to reflect on what I have said about the boardroom and feel my comment may have been a little hasty. In general I enjoy coming on here and like a bit of friendly banter the things that have got me down have been the cage issue for one and the Toyo business neither of which really affect me. But some of the post have been a little off putting to say the least. On the up side these problems do seem to have been resolved so the balance has been restored. The post by Bruce looked to be a commercial post which even as a speed series sponsor is not permitted. It also looked to me to be putting down another suppliers product which is poor (This is how it looked to me.) On the up side these problems are a very small minority of post traffic on the board room and as such should be taken on board and treated as such. Now I have that off my chest I will have a much happier weekend helped along no doubt by copious amounts of red wine hic.

Justin,

Thanks for making the effort, and for trying to demonstrate the benefits of belonging to a club of “like minded people”. It’s a pity that you have to defend your buying decision. The last time I looked it was still a free country, with a market driven economy that encourages competition and allows the individual the opportunity to make a choice.

Sorry it’s got to this point.

I’m still interested in the hubs, so maybe we and the other confirmed individuals who have PM’d you their details can continue with this “off the boardroom”?

Illegitimis nil carborundum.

What a great shame.

People should just take what's on offer or sort their own - simple as that.

There's always one who feels the need have their say when they have no interest in joining the bulk buy.

Thanks OB1 for f##king it up for all of us who were happy with the product and prices offered.

Perhaps we should go WSCC members only for bulk buys in future and have a separate area within the boardroom like the 'for sale' section that anyone can read but only WSCC members can post to.

Justin, I can understand why you've become p******** off and pulled the plug I'd have done the same. What started as a simple bulk buy with a product offered for a set price has turned into a big ego trip about who's got the best hubs and calipers.

Thanks anyway Justin,

Richard.

going on from what Rich has said, it is a real shame that people go out of there way to help people and get so much stick for it.

I think having a seperate bulk buy section in the members only part is a great Idea. Mr Chairman?

A very disappointing end to someone’s offer of help to his fellow members.

I would like to offer my thanks to Justin for his time and effort in trying to get this organised Buy together.  I consider getting 18 people interested a success in itself.

Thanks for all your efforts. It's a shame it has come to this. People will research the market and buy what is right for them. I have done this with the Compbrake hubs previously and almost bought a set off eBay before. I am grateful for you trying to allow us to share in a cost saving exercise that will benefit those people who are interested in this product. I, like you it seems, run my car on a light budget and enjoy the fact that I get to save a couple of quid off market prices by doing a little work and asking the right questions.

Matt

I agree with your sentiments expressed above. I have watched the cage and tyre (and other unrelated) issues unfold and as neither affected me I resisted the urge to join in the *debate*. I approach my posts on here with the attitude that I will never express a view on here that I wouldn't express to the person/people affected in person. It is sometimes too easy to be confrontational or appear confrontational in this environment, particularly when we are pressed for time or a little wound up. Enjoy the red wine but make sure you get home and wash your hands first :D

What a shame, I've already got aly hubs, so no benefit from the bulk buy for me this time. But having taken part in other bulk buys, I can appreciate the work you've put into this one and the stress you've had.

It's a sad day when things like this happen, as I do believe they steadily erode the atmosphere and good nature of the club. Fortunately such moments are few and far between, but the trouble is they stick in  the memory.

A very disappointing end to someone’s offer of help to his fellow members.

I can only second this.

Like many of the members above....I'm very disappointed that Justin has 'understandably' pulled the plug.  I was very happy with the hubs on offer and the price they were offered at...thanks for all your efforts Justin  :t-up:

I do try and resist from commenting on 'contentious' debates, particularly when they do not directly affect me....however some of the recent threads do make me    My car is my hobby and I own it for fun...the WSCC is a great club lets try and keep it that way

Rant over...reaches for glass of shiraz  :p

As the bulk buy has been pulled i though it reasonable to point this out.

For those that are still interested i suggest you look @ ebay , it appears Compbrake are selling pairs of hubs at £80 with heavy duty bearings at £10/kit + £10 postage with no mention of vat on top.

Just passing it on for those that are interested.
