Thrustyjust Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Have been talking to a chap from Comprake, who is willing to do a 'trade' deal on sets of cortina style alloy hubs.If we can get 10 pairs of hubs on order(or more) we can have an unbeatable deal on these CNC'd billet alloy hubs. They are machined and are avail as bare alloy or for an extra £10 a pair can be anodised any basic colour you like. There is Gold, silver, black, red, blue and green to start with and maybe more. Shopping around,I have come up with a list of suppliers and their costings to compare 1/Kitcar workshop will supply hubs with bearings and studs for £86 each plus postage. 2/Burtons want £80 each for just the hub and £10 postage 3/ Raceleda want £75 each plus 'VAT' and postage 4/Rally Design want £147.47 a pair of hubs inc vat and post These hubs will come bare and the only thing needed is studs and bearings. The studs can be supplied at £0.50 each, compared to Rally Design at over a £1 each is also favourable.I guess a mail to Seight may sort us some bearings at a reasonable price. The hubs are avail at '£40 'each INCLUDING VAT.Postage will be approx £6,no mark up from him on that either.Turn around from order will be approx 10 days although a couple more days may be needed for anodising. So if we can get the bearings for under £20,you could have some alloy hubs for less than £110 on the car!!! The guy supplies companies such as Lotus and Ralliart,so knows whats what. He also has some calipers which will direct replace the Princess style calipers ,which are 4 pot.He has offered them as a deal too.If you have princess calipers,or want to run vented discs,if a batch of 5 pairs are made,he will sell them at £100 each INCLUDING THE VAT. Pads are also avail to purchase at the same time. I am looking for a list of people who are genuine in their want to get a pair of hubs and/or calipers,so as to get the ball rolling. You can put on this topic, you are interseted and then also mail me your requirements at thrustyjust@hotmail.com with you names and e-mail address.Monies will be sent direct to the manufacturer,so he gets the money and I don't loose it.I will discuss this with other members nearer the time.Website is www.compbrake.co.uk I'll start with saying one pair of hubs with studs anodised Gold If you also want to view the hubs that are 'very uncannily similar' have a look at the hi-spec website!!!!!Go on,you know that unsprung weight is the bane of a westie!!! Blatman Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Question on the calipers. Will the fluid pathways be internal like the new Hi Spec/CAT/Outlaw calipers? And *must* they be fitted over vented discs? I'd prefer not to use vented discs... If the answers are Yes and No, I'll have a pair of them please... Ooohh, they need to fit under 13" rims. Princess calipers do... just... Quote
