Jan Coombes Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Wow Guy’s thanks for your well wishes and the get-well card from WSCC. I'm up and hobbling about, but still in quite a lot of pain, I get out of breath really easily and lots of dizzy spells. I've only broken 2 ribs, which the doctors seem to think in a miracle and I am not much worse off, they said the fact I did not have more broken bones was down to decent leathers. (which they cut into to shreds, even my socks…..) The Accident is a bit hazy but, as I understand it I was over taking some traffic I went to pulled in, as a lorry was coming towards me, braked gently from about 30-35 MPH and the front "washed out" (the police said it was oil and wet leaves) and I went down like a sack of spuds and I hit my head on the ground and knocked myself out, the bike and I then slid into the back of a stationary car. I came too about 30 mins later already in a head restraint and strapped to a board, drip etc. I had a pain in my back and I really thought I was paralyzed As the helicopter landed I have no shame in saying I’ve never been scared in my whole life. Large quantizes of Morphine and pretty nurses ease my suffering. That’s it for me a road bikes, I was told in hospital 80% of all donner’s come from Bikers. Any riders out there your go easy. Quote
