CarlR Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I'm glad I've met you Harv because you're actually a nice bloke, if I hadn't met you and relied entirely upon what I read here I might have thought that you're a bit of a w+anchor. Thanks for the loan of the tools at Spa I hope Richard is feeling better. I've fitted a cage and decent harness because I have a young daughter whom I want to see grow up, graduate and get married, the cage doesn't guarantee that I know, but for me it made sense because I know sometimes you really don't know what is waiting around the next corner or even over the rise, and you don't know how it's going to pan out when it happens. Like so many things in life, you weigh up the risks, think of the consequences, look at the bank balance and make a choice. Here's to Trackdays long may they continue. Live and let live. CarlR
conibear Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Would I be wrong in saying that the top bars on the Caterham cage are significantly lower than that of a Westfield's cage As, with me sitting in my wide body my head/helmet is no where near going to clash with my cage.
Carl Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Just out of interest how may people have been seriously injured in a westie / cateringvan on a track with "only" an RAC bar?

There are two types of cage. A Roadsport, which fits under the weather gear of a C******m (so it's closer to the occupants), and an SLR, which is similar to what we have made by Caged...

Club Secretary (Reserve) Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Gentlemen. After spending far too much time this morning on phone calls between Commitee members, this thread is now closed. The claims and counter claims made on this thread are going to receive a thorough investigation by the Commitee, and that process is already under way. Until we have completed our investigation, we would ask that no further comment is made by anyone, whether by starting a new thread, or by PM or E-mail. We will be monitoring the Board and PM/Email traffic closely. Any new threads, or posts in other threads that refer to this thread will be deleted, and further action will be taken against the author of any such posts, messages or E-mails. It saddens us greatly that we have felt the need to make such a request and that we have to be prepared to take punitve action, but the behaviour of some of you has disappointed us enormously. Mark Hall. WSCC Club Secretary, for and on behalf of the entire WSCC Committee.
