MAT1800 Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Does that mean you want a kit then Tamariki? PS. Kerry, I meant my ECu is still in the enigne bay....I didn't follow the instructions in the manual, and it was one of those.....I haven't got any time left it'll do for now, things prior to SVA, that I was going to change. Glad I didn't now! Mat. Quote
jak Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 If they supply a complete new ecu loom I will run mine as per Flappas car. My deposit was posted today. John. Quote
Jack T Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 On the issue of routing the engine loom, I have got a sport 1800 with westfield supplied throttle body kit, I took the cable throgh the tunnel like Kerry S. But it was really tight to get to the ECU mounted on the scuttle by the time I went round the heater. So definitely go through the scuttle with a grommet it will give you far more cable to play with. Thats just my two pence worth any way P.S. They are well worth the money Jack Quote
Tamariki Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Mat, Can't afford one now, but hopefully some time in the not too distant future, if the offer continues. Tamariki Quote
KerryS Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 Tamariki My understanding is that the price holds for minimum batch size of 8 - from my discussions with Westfield. When we get the first 8 and things happening, ie WF place orders for bits, there may need to be another 8 before you can get the offer price. However, I'll check with them tomorrow, my weekly progress update with Mark. Kerry S Quote
MAT1800 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Tamariki, I understand, there often too many things that require money spending on them, and you can't do everything at once. Especially with Christmas looming. But It's a shame, because this deal is limited to now, and it is a good saving. But we all have to prioritise, so hope you get it sorted eventually, and it's always worth talking to WF later on... by which time there should be plenty of TB experts to help out with their experiences. Mat. ***Kerry that's twice I've posted then seen you've also posted... Bizzare.. See you Sunday. *** Quote
Tamariki Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Mat, Kerry, To not be able to afford a kit now is not a shame, it's a disaster that makes Custer's Last Stand look like a roaring success. However I cling to the hope that this will take off as it richly deserves to after all the work that has gone into this and that outlined in the earlier thread, and that I will be able to order one later. zvezdochka Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Hi again Will know tomorrow if finances will work, so assuming it does, is it just a case of sending a cheque for £360 (payable to Westfield Sportscars?) to Mark Walker at this stage? then balance of £840 before delivery of the hardware? Rick Quote
jak Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Yes. Go on, do it you know it makes sense. John. Quote

Rick As jak says, yes. I would suggest you send it with a note saying that it's a returnable deposit in the event that the offer falls through. Remember, nothing happens until the magic number is reached, then WF will place orders and do the little bit of development work needed before you ge the goodies. If you send deposit, you'll be number 7 I think; I intend speaking to Mark tomorrow to check on progress. Kerry S Quote
Chasmon Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Would like throttle bodies but unfortunately I'm buying a 2.0L Zetec so will have to make other arrangements. Hope you manage to get the numbers though. C Quote
