Lordbenny
I live in Sutton, surrey. 10 mins down the A217 in Banstead is Romans Car Specialists. I had a blat up there on Sunday to show my 10 year old some exotica. here's what was in the showroom...4 x (Yes 4! Ferrarri Enzo's, 1 x Pagini Zonda (Black Right Hooker), 1 x Ford GT, 2 x Porsche Carrera GTs, 2 x McLaren Merc SLR's, 1 x DB9, 1 x Ferrari 360 Spider. Outside you had the usual Merc SLR65's, Porsche GT3 (trackday spec),BMW M3 CSL etc. Must have about 5 million quids worth of stock there! I was asked by the young jeans & T-shirt wearing salesman if I needed any help. I said that we were just dreaming......as you do. But what If I wanted a test drive? What if I had £500,000 burning a hole in my pocket? Which one shall I choose? Please help!
Boxy
I would go for the zonda because there is nothing quite like it. I had the privilege of driving a 'rarri 355 on a track day, it was good fun although I wasn't overly impressed, but then again I'm used to driving the westy and the ferrari seemed too refined - bl**** fast though. I had more fun in the single seaters
Blatman
Porsche GT3. If it's a genuine GT3 in "race" spec, then it's easily the most capable car they have in stock. If money were no object, I'd have a McLaren F1 and a Porsche GT3 in my garage, and for track days/racing, I think a Judd engined MG/Lola or maybe a proper *race* engined/specced Ultima... Major Stare
Any except the Merc's............im not fussy but more than likely the Zonda or Enzo as you dont see them on the roads...unlike the rest of the car.
Mark B
Enzo for the sound and GT3 for shopping
samcooke
If it's a genuine GT3 in "race" spec, then it's easily the most capable car they have in stock. Prpas I'm being daft but I'm thinking a GT3 is a 996 with a roll cage. Two versions, one about 99 one 2003, both roughly the same, both sub 400bhp. Mate of mine gave £50k for one this year. If I'm right then it's easily the most capable car they have in stock is wrong. An Enzo or Zonda would be more capable, never mind a Carrera GT. Are we thinking of the Cup cars Mr B? samcooke
Oh and FWIW I'd have : Carrera GT for track work £300,000 M3 CSL for going to the shops £40,000 DB9 for going to fancy hotels £100,000 And £60,000 for a year's insurance. Mark Stanton
Gotta agree with Mr Blats GT3 from that list or a McLaren F1 GT for ultimate want
markcoopers
Got punted arround Bedford in a GT3 (2003), and a GT3RS. No issue here, the GT3RS was massivly capable and very fast. Sat trackside watching one keep up with a Carrera GT was all the evidence I'll ever need, one is now added to my Upgrade list
Matt Seabrook
Looks like the Enzo is a lot faster than a GT3
Blatman
Are we thinking of the Cup cars Mr B? Nope. GT3RS road car, such that it is. It is *much* more than just a 996 with a cage. It's entirely clad in carbon panels for a start... As for Matts assertion that an Enzo is faster than a GT3, I'll reserve judgement until an Enzo (or any other Ferrari) regularly beats a Porsche in the same class in the GT's... So I'm standing by my assertion that the GT3RS (I'm assuming that "Porsche GT3 (trackday spec)"...) means an RS) is easily the most capable car for going fast in. Argue all you want, you're all just wrong if you disagree
samcooke
(I'm assuming that "Porsche GT3 (trackday spec)"...) means an RS) I'm not, and those two little letters make a big difference. Reckon Lord Benny could probably stretch to reading a great big sticker dow the side of the car. Not that that would change my mind, I'd still have the Carrera GT. Lap times aren't everything you know, otherwise we'd all have BECs...
