I just need to run it up to speed in 4th gear (i.e. 100 ish MPH) and down again a few dozen times at full throttle. I don't want to book a whole test day at a circuit but also don't want to take it on the road in case I am nicked. Ideally a farm or air field or disused area where the old bill won't bother me. Reminds me years ago (1978 to be precise) when I 1st came to Bath, we used to sneak over to Castle Combe circuit & drive on in the evenings. Fat Albert Posted September 3, 2003 Share Posted September 3, 2003 Keith Finmere has a strip about 1/2 mile long used by half a dozen light aircraft, Wing has one without the aircraft. Former runways/taxiways, both are in reasonable condition though have lots of 'marbles'. Both are 'owned' by local farmer(s). Do they let you do such things there You can but it'll cost you £200 for 4hrs min track hire & you'll need to sort out your own insurance before they'll let you in. Brafield oval track (where you used to do bangers) will let you test all day for about £25 but 100 mph would be a problem. What about Santa Pod during the week? Don't think Kemble has been running events this year (because of the 747 they're dismantling there). I think they had too many noise complaints (usual story).
