Looks like the sprigot bearing and shaken loose altenator bracket would be noises. Shaken loos sump bolts and Halfords synthetic p*** thin oil wuld account for the leaks. Surge would be the poorly modified oil pick up pipe, having had the sump shortend.....might be more of an issue. .....perhaps I havn't got away with it.
