windy Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 So it's now officially been announced in the press last week with the new inboard suspension. Factory turn key cars for road & racing "like what you buy in the showroom" & with SVA approval! Mickmade bits shortly to be fitted to road going westy in SS then? Debate Quote

windy Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 What publication was that in....... AUTOCAR! Quote
dasamdy Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 If this car (and driver) were to enter a speed series event what class would it end up in, would it be simplified by tyres and aero's or would the inboard suspension push it into mod prod or even super mod prod (slicks) Quote
windy Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 The car in the picture looked to have road tyres & was fitted with a windscreen & lights, thus road registered. It also had a 260 hp duratec engine. The suspension has been produced in house, not by an aftermarket company, so is a Caterham product. Quote
Rob Navin Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 so for the ss where would it end up??? Still behind Ash Quote
windy Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 so for the ss where would it end up??? Good question I can hear Blatters frantically fluttering pages of the blue book as we speak Quote

windy Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 Windy are we talking about Caterhams or Westfields here..... Well not sure. The car that looked like a Caterham in Autocar seemed to have a Westfield nosecone. In fact it seemed to have the RR emblem from the Robinson design studio on it Quote
mhc Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 A call to the factory R&D department will reveal some interesting developments on their new car. Perhaps the new Speed Series rules will take this into consideration, regards. Quote
scott beeland Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 I'm sure natural development evolution is going to see an inbord shocked westfield before long Quote
