Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Shows my age, I realise, but the Simon & Garfunkle concert in Central Park back in the eighties sometime is a good start. Quote
Blatman Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Actually, I have my sights set firmly in the future, and I have 3 events I'd like to be present at. 1. 1st contact with a species that is not indigenous to Earth. 2. When the cure for ALL cancer is available to all. 3. When spinal injuries can be successfully repaired. I guess I've watched too much sci fi........ Quote
MARSDALEBEAR Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 1. 1st contact with a species that is not indigenous to Earth. You could always go to your local McDonalds and meet the Max Power crowd. Quote
Blatman Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Much as I would like them to be a non indigenous species, sadly they actually qualify as human, or at least, Neanderthal, possibly Cro-Magnon, but definitely indigenous, which is a real shame... Quote
adhawkins Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Moon landing (queue the conspiracy theorists). I missed it, cos I was being born at the time Andy Quote
JAG Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 I would like to have been a Pilot Officer in the RAF around July 1940 at the start of the Battle of Britain Quote
hilux Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Seconded.................... Unassuming youngsters into the unknown, teenager to old man in hours. Terrified to a man I`m sure......but what a buzz......must be the ultimate combat in what were then the ultimate machines. ( Bless `em all and thank God for them) If only some of our `visitors` now living in this country appreciated why this country is what it is today Quote
karlgurney Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 I would like to have been a Pilot Officer in the RAF around July 1940 at the start of the Battle of Britain My wifes grandfather was, well he was training in africa near the end of the war. During one training sortie they were told to return to base immediately. When they landed they were informed the war was over. They didn't tell them whilst they were flying in fear of them doing something crazy. Quote
