SEiGHT
If they're the same Avons as came with my car (factory built) then they were appalling. I've had my Avon AV1s for 3 years and 20,000 miles, 4 Santa Pod days, a Mallory Park blat, 2 full days around Donington and various Tesco Car Park sessions (ahem) and they've still got most of their tread left Trouble is I'm too tight to buy some replacements

With tyres you either get long life or good grip. Looks like the Avons give the former. I replaced all 5 of mine for Yoko A539s for 35 quid each. Made a huge difference. God knows what it'd be like if I'd gone for 21Rs or 32Rs! Andy
Peter Cox
Can had 14" wheelz on when I bought it. Your exhaust had wheels on it? Andy Now that's extreme weight saving.

Sadly, I think that smoke is coming from the exhaust and not the tyres Or is it? You tell me:
Karl Woolf
15" for Road and hopefully 13" for track and some road thats if I can get my A*** around banaman`s house next week
samcooke
Sorry Paul, that's from the Zorst that. Tyre smoke is white - kinda like: Exhaust smoke is easily fixed though - simply buy my car complete with thirteen inch wheels (best).
Bananaman
Looks like the 15" are winning over the 13", but is this out of choice or curcumstance.?
Noel Johnson
circumstance I think. Mine came with the 15 inch wheels and I think they look fab - agree about the Avon tyres though. Mine are 5 years old and looking like new even after smokin' the living daylights out of 'em
adhawkins
Get rid of them and put 539s (or something even better) on. George Polley were less than 40 quid a tyre when I checked last. You'll really notice the difference. Andy
TJWilliams
I see it is close between 13" and 15". Is it not worth fitting 14" to get the best of both worlds ? I'm still trying to make my mind up. Looks (15) or performance(13)?
furtive
I personally think that 13" wheels look better as well as perform better.
