JonnyBoy Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Any downsides to the engine? Well it's quite a tall engine and so fitting is not always as straight forward as with shorter lumps. It was angled over to get bonnet clearance in both 8 and 16 valve derivatives in the standard vehicles. But being all alloy it is very light and this means that raising it up a bit to get ground clearance doesn't hurt the centre of gravity of the vehicle too much. from puma here Quote
hilux Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 See latest `Retro Cars` for pug engine info etc Quote
ACW Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 I think the main problem (as well as the height) is the angle of lean required for the engine. Quote
sir camel toe Posted July 19, 2004 Author Posted July 19, 2004 cheers lads but the engine has had more or less every thing done to it ie rally cams port pol gas flowed head valve guides cut down 3 angle cut on the valves and head inlet mans to match 45 tbs Quote

Matt Seabrook Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 It’s likely to cost more to get the Pug engine to fit even if you do manage it than to fit a tuned Vx or Zetec. Sell the engine and put the money to something more conventional sorry Quote
