Baz, thats only cos you can probably beat Nige when there are bends involved (who did a 12.5 ISTR)  :D

Sorry I didnt get to say hello to the other Westies that were in the queue, I think next year I'll employ a "pusher" to move my car up the queue whilst I go round and watch other runs / natter to people rather than need to stay with the cars most of the time to stop a few of the chavs pushing in all the time  :bangshead:

I was surprised how much technique was involved. Nigel pulled 2/3 car lengths on me on the start when I ran against him.

I was on stickier tyres too !!!

The last run I got the start a lot better, but fluffed 2 gear changed looking at the fireblade bike in front of me rather than the shift lights !!! but it was still the fastest run even though I was slower through the trap at the end than on my second run.

Yup its weird how the run you think you fluffed most is often the quickest, my quickest one (13.47) involved me having two grabs for 4th to 5th (I didnt pull hard enough first time! ) and then lifted to change into a virtual 7th gear before the line, yet was still 2/10th quicker than a couple of other runs that felt perfect  :bangshead:

Like you say, its all won or lost in the first 50m or so I think.

I did 104mph terminal on 3 runs, but like Baz my quickest time corresponded with my slowest terminal at only 100mph after I fluffed the changes.  :durr:

I guess I must have been a bit quicker up to that point hence feeling like I was in 5th, if Id carried on in 6th then I should have been about 105-106 Id like to think.
