You could always slot a 2.0L in there, should give you 165bhp & lots more tuneability later on.....

I think most of the ancillaries will swap over without having to buy new engine mounts, manifolds etc......

i think this could be the way to, and thinking about it one of my mates has got a 2l escort that he's about 2 scrap due being held together by rust. :D

would my 3d alpha ignition be ok? or would it need mapping

I'd have thought it would be OK to begin with as the 2.0L should have the same 130 cams in as your 1.8L, it's always good to put it on the rollers though, if it's putting out about 160-165bhp on the 2.0L then that'd be about right & you could leave it. If not you could get a bit of mapping done. :t-up:

P.S. whats the milage on your mates 2.0L ??? might be worth checking the bottom end if it's a high mile'er...... :suspect:

not sure on the milage,i'll give him a ring tonight and see what he says.with any luck not to high and i'll be able to get it cheap.
