Half a dozen or so of the fastest cars in the club would be nice. Trying to get in this years event if I can but need to do a decent qualifying time to be eligible. Probably a bit late in the day to get a team ready for this years event though. Anyone interested in getting a team together for next year?? RS WST Posted June 30, 2004 Author Share Posted June 30, 2004 I have recently spoke to Chris Mann orgaiser of TOTB III. I am meeting him this Sunday weather permitting at Elvington for a testing day. (RWYB) He said there may be a few openings for some Westfields to enter the event this year, Sunday August 1st. The event is going to be on TV and a video will be made so this is your chance for 15mins of fame for a mere £80. If anyone is interested in a provisional place you can call me on 07887 517597 after 6.30pm, (Austen) Not sure about the scoring for the 3 diciplines, (1/4 mile sprint, top speed trap, time trail) I think there is a seperate prize for each dicipline if I remember right. Unless you are local or running Nitrous, would think hard if its worth while entering. From what I've heard they are expecting much better times than last year. And we can forget about the Top Speed section completely. As for next year, not too sure the westy will be so fast depending on winter plans. But think we would do better having a westfield only comp a month before and only the top 2 entering TOTB, as we are only going to take points off ourselves if there are too many. I am planning to go up to Santa Pod for the 10th, this is a RWYB day which should give you a good idea as to how fast you can go. Anybody else planning to attend? Basically if you can not break into the 11's for the 1/4 mile - don't bother I suspect that this year is a bit too short notice for many, but should plan for next year as Westfields should be good at least for 2 of the 3 events. Craig and I will almost certainly go to the event anyway - we did last year and it was quite interesting to say the least (how can an EVO 6 beat a turbo busa dax round a handling circuit ) They usually do test days to allow clubs to prepare their teams.
