at one time, if you hit a dog, you had, by law to report the fact as it was a licenced animal.   Not any more of course because they no longer have licences.

It's still a legal requirement - Road Traffic Act 1988 section 170 requires you to stop/report etc. if damage is caused to an animal.  The definition of animal includes dog, even though dog licences were abolished some years previously.

FWIW, having recently had a pet rabbit decapitated in our garden, I find the concept of deliberately or otherwise splatting rabbits none too hilarious.

Should I ask how the said wabbit became headless?

I'm sure I speak for everyone else when I say splatting rabbits is a last resort to avoid splatting oneself. A poor alternative, but necessary nevertheless at times.

Was driving home one night flat out in the ex father in laws Skoda estelle( don't ask) and this bl**** rabbit ran into the back of me :D  :D  :D

Another rabbit joke :p well I've put my lucky rabbits foot in it this time. Its made the hare's on my the back of my neck stand up ooooooooooh
