Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
Meet at Quacker's cafe, Bakewell, 10am for refreshments before going on a run around the Peak District, finishing at our new venue The Tap Room, Riverside Brewery, Buxton Road, Bakewell, DE45 1GS. The only food served in the Tap Room is pizza, see here https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0075/9939/0831/files/Pizza_Menu_dec22_sml.jpg?v=1671213919 It is a brewery and we are all responsible drivers, so I must say that both hot and soft drinks are available extra to the beers that are brewed on site. Bottled beer is on sale to take away too. The current weather forecast is good but please check before Sunday when we will have a more updated forecast. Who is coming?

Popular Post Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
We met at Quackers cafe car park, Bagpuss had a white nose cone because the pink one is off for 😮 cosmetic repair, Dan bought his other car out which was only a TVR with a 5 litre Rover V8 engine👍, Jake in his lovely Tiger 🤩, Steve and Vikki had purchased their old Westfield back much to our delight because it was such a great car 👍and Billy quietly 😁 appeared in his Tesla. We went into the cafe for a warm and breakfast We set off down the access road out of Quackers, so not at speed, and Jake's car let go, bang, spin and into a fence post. It was shocking, on the public road it could have been a very nasty accident and all our sympathies go out to Jake. One of the bolts on the upright had sheared. Once Jake had arranged recovery and we thought that he was as ok as he could be after such an event, we carried on with our day, poor @Jakejmagee, we feel for you and if you need any help/advice then us/here/this forum is the place to ask for it. We took a good run out on a mixture of high ground with great views and some good driving roads, landing us right back at Bakewell and at Thornbridge Brewery where we went into The Tap Room. Car park at Thornbridge Brewery The beer flowed, some of it real stuff and some of it, myself included on Zero Five which is 0.5% strength, although it was ok, it just isn't the same and I would have a Jaipur Indian Pale Ale over it anyday. Cheers! The pizza is freshly made and you could tell, it was excellent. @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO not content with having Peak District hills and chocolate named after him, he also has his own beer, look at this 8.4% too! Mad, the man himself The driving, company and venues have all been excellent but we felt for Jake and we wish him well.
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
Jake has sent me this photo and it looks like the upright has failed. Your opinions are welcome.
Rob Hunter - Club Secretary
Sorry I missed it, didn't get back until midnight from the Speed Series awards night! Been chatting with @Jakejmagee and offered the collective help. Looks to me that the previous owner has had an issue with that upright previously as both bolts have been helicoiled....
