Donington Track Evening - Tuesday 18th July 4pm to 8pm

If you follow the track day section of the forum you will probably know that we have a load of us doing the Donington track evening on the 18th July.

Spectators are free, so even if you haven't got a ticket for the track you are welcome to come along and watch.

At the last count, we have over 25 cars attending. From complete novices to experienced track gods. Loads of Westfields, MNR, MK, GBS, MEV's etc with an assortment of engine set ups, plus an MX5 and a few hot hatches. We already quite a number to come and watch with a few having blagged a passenger ride on track.

Should be a great event 👍

Fingers crossed the weather gods are kind! 😂

Well, despite the rain, we had a fantastic time last night!

Sadly a few had to pull out due to mechanical gremlins and a handful decided the weather was too bad but we still had a great turnout.

Loads of assorted Westfields, MK's, MNR, Pheonix, MX5, MR2 and even a Cobra!

The session started wet, then just as we were getting a bit of a dryish line, the rain came again. Driving standards were generally really good (other than a couple of Civics who were a little over enthusiastic) and everyone left with their car in one piece 👍

Every one of my 5 runs were with a different passenger, the last of which was Alex as I'd twisted his arm for some feedback on my driving given his experience in the Speed Series (hoping to teach this old dog some new tricks! 😂). As usual, my bravery outweighed my talent and on what would have been my fastest and last lap, I took him for a scenic tour of the lovely beach situated outside Coppice corner 😂😂

Amazing fun, roll on the next one!!

Some photos (most aren't mine!)

A couple of laps with @Alex Gaskin riding shotgun.

My fastest lap of the day in wet conditions on semi slicks (R888R fronts and Kumho V70a rears) of 1m35.3s followed by a scenic trip to one of Leicestershires finest beaches 😂

Did you forget to brake?

A least you didn't go in backwards!

I'd gotten a great exit out of McLeans and was 5mph up at the braking point and locked up.... I could either attempt the corner and spin, or bleed as much speed off as I could and go the scenic route 😂
