Couple of beers tonight to celebrate 🥳

I've been eyeing a £28 bottle of wine that someone bought me for my birthday a few weeks ago.  Uncorked and breathing as I write........

Where are you lifting the car from? Do you have any pics?

I haven't lifted, but this is pretty close to the lift spot. When over the lift properly, I put the rear blocks under the rear outer corners of the lowered floors. Hope this helps, difficult to get a good shot on the floor. I'd need to move the lift if I was to do a lift, but its beer o'clock here now haha

Are you saying that the Westfield's track is so narrow the tyres won't go on the lift platform?

The lift isn't that long. When the car is square over the top, the wheels are on the ground. The lift then lifts a conventional car under the sills on the jacking points. The westfield is too narrow at the front to put the blocks on the lift platform.

It's a great piece of kit

Ah I see! The initial pictures baffled me as I thought it was a normal long ramp type lift.

That looks like a handy bit of kit. Do you have a link to the supplier please?

This is the model I have. I bought mine used though off a mechanic who was upgrading from working off his drive to a unit with a 2 post lift.

I can use it in the garage for long term winter jobs. But when the weathers nice I wheel it outside. It's heavy, but I've the technique mastered now to get it in and out.

The GTI spent a whole winter on the ramp lifted off the ground in the garage, no problem

Thanks, you have no idea how many times I scoured eBay and never seen that particular one. Says a lot about their search function which is definitely not as good as it used to be years ago.

So you’re going to lift it gearbox side, level with the scuttle area?

It's more mid bonnet area. With the car square on the lift and the rear blocks under the rear corners of the lower floor, it sits quite nice and stable and no weight on any fibreglass. (The cars not in the right place in this photo, but the bar is, for reference).

The S2000 Engine has a lower sump section at the front. The bar slides behind this, before the gearbox

Ah wow, totally hadn't thought to do it like that. I can slide my beam back and utilise the same. Then there's even more access from underneath at the engine end.

So your ramp is longer and the correct width to have the car sat on its wheels? Brilliant. Do you have a link to the model of ramp you have please @Matt_S?

Or are you rear wheels off the end?
