joolz Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Just had this on the dyno before its track day at blyton and then its first rally of the season. Found 20hp just by bypassing the clogged air filter! Great day to be a Triumph fan 5 Quote

Eventually it turned to dust underneath me. 1 Quote
joolz Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Have just been trying out my new corner weight scales on the trackday westy. See my mods / updates / work thread here Joolz's Westy repair and development thread - Page 2 - Build Diaries - WSCC - Community Forum Edit : flip why does copy and paste of the web address not become a clickable link? Ah sorted it, have to copy it into notepad then copy that into here. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 3 Quote
Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Apologies if I’ve posted this elsewhere. I had wanted a table sign for our meets to make it easier for new members to identify us, so I 3D printed this. Someone then suggested lighting it up, so I did 🤪🤣. Just battery powered with some LED strips 👍. Must have too much time on my hands, thought it never feels like it! 5 Quote

Started to strip it down and see if you really can sell the parts for more than the car cost, I have the donor car parts required list from four of the manufacturers to see i dont sell any parts I will \need when i decide what to go for. Progress has been slow with weather and arm problem but after selling 21 small items (trim items mainly) I have made it to 20% of purchase price . 2 Quote

And maybe for some tidy up engine bay Update : Took my Road Westfield for a ride ( 1-2 C deg , sunny, dry , from few weeks no salt on roads) well test drive, to chcek all after mounting back . - engine and gearbox with longer 1st gear and new synchros, - 4,3 vs 8kg flywheel - new steering rack, - rearranged simplified fuel system ( swirl pot delete) , - simplified brake fluid system (remote fluid reservoir delete) - 2cm lower mounted seat (seat rails -delete- ) , - and few smaller jobs oil, filters, coolant, brake fluid .. In fact longer 1st gear (2,98 in my case) is more natural, and really nice upgrade , hope I apreciate that later on trips and in traffic. One can drive some more than few metrers distance on 1st but to be honest, not sure if I would go through all this only for thist 1st, if not synchros, flywheel and anyway car stucked in garage. Only what worries me is that few times during this test drive could not engage 1st from standing start. Hope its just clutch cable or clutch cable pedal support issue, becaus not going to take this gearbox out never ever more! And btw it was really fun to drive a while Westfield again after few months! 2 Quote
