Wind deflector design and improvements

Albeit 69, lm a newbie on here. Very few things left in life where l can be!

My son Phippsy, bought his narrow body and l soon followed with a fw.

My drive home with bikini roof and no door screens, four layers of clothing from Wiltshire to Isle of Anglesey was to say the least, bl**** freezing.

It took away a lot of the fun of driving the car.

I've looked at the current designs of wind deflectors and am wondering are they the very best design? Do any of you have improvements that you would like to see. Improving the deflectors ability to deflect the air flow.

I'd be interested in reading your suggestions.

You should reach out to @Mark Redpath - WSCC Membership Secretarywho has made some larger wind deflectors and he’s in our local WSCC group- Wirral & north wales

🤣 Nope ... it's the guy in the advert or whatever picture he's managed to find from his customers / internet.

Worth a look at this topic in Tech Talk. I have a set of Westfield deflectors with hinge holes in slightly the wrong place (my OCD kicked in once I fitted them...) if you want a cheap pair to try out - will take some photos.

Hi Steve, if still available I wouldn't mind giving them a try. Regards, Barry

I have just purchased a strip heater.

My intention is to draw a design up, laser cut and bend my own. £140 is much too expensive.

Along with the strip heater. I've also acquired a fluidised bath for dip coating.

What thickness polycarbonate are those you have, 3 or 6mm.

Has anyone had any cracking around the screw holes?

Mine are 4mm. I haven't had any cracking around the screw holes - I drilled them out slightly oversize so I could adjust the hinges.
